The #NotBuyingIt App Sexism Won’t Sell


Download the app on your iPhone


When you open the app, the first thing you see are the latest posts by other users. This brings up the main menu

This lets you search by brand

This brings up a map of all posts

Like other’s posts... ...or share them to Twitter, Facebook or via email


Main menu

Connect to your Twitter account to amplify the impact of your posts.

If you connect to Twitter, your profile pic will appear here. Otherwise you can add a new image.


Creating a new post:

Clicking the “+� sign gives you two options for adding a post


After clicking #NotBuyingIt or #MediaWeLike:

You can click here to add a photo Auto includes the hashtag

Share to your Twitter account to make sure the brand gets your message!

Include your location to appear on the map of posts


When you add a photo:

You can take a new photo, or use one already on your phone.

You can place the stamp wherever you’d like on the image


Remember to tag the brand in your post

Hit post to publish! If the brand has previously been called out, it will auto-appear here. If not, you can still add it!


Your post will now appear in the general feed! You can also see a history of all your posts in the main menu


When you click the “map� icon:

Places where people have posted near you (you can zoom out to see the whole country, world)

Clicking on an individual pin will bring up that post and allow you to share!


When you click the “magnifying glass� search icon:

Search for brands, and see all posts associated with that brand.


“Campaigns”

How many people have posted about this brand, and the option to repost or “join”


“Victories�

Info on companies that have changed practices or removed media in response to campaigns!


“Take the Pledge�

Join our larger movement to challenge limiting representations of gender!
