Our trip started in Pang Nga, a province that is full with mountains and forests, locating 788 kms away from Bangkok. There is contains a mountainous terrain stretching from north to south and a long coastline as well as many islands which are famous for their beauty. There are various types of forests including rainforests and mangroves along the coastline. All of these make Pang Nga one of the most highly visited destinations. There are only 2 seasons in Pang Nga; summer starts from January until April and monsoon starts from May until December.

There are many interesting attractions in Pang Nga. The first place is Laem Pakarang at Khao Lak Beach, locates between Takuapa-Khao lak Route, from Takuapa District, turn right at 78th-79th Km and go straight for 5 kms. Laem Pakarang contains beaches full with the remains of coral reefs and broken antlers. The sea is good for swimming. The lines of pines provide shady ambience, suitable for taking pictures during the beautiful sunset. There are accommodations and food kiosks available for tourists near Laem Pakarang. The next attraction is highly visited by both Thais and foreigners, Tsunami Memorial Sculpture. It locates at Soi Nang Theng, Petchkasem Road, Baan Bang Nieng, Takuapa District. It is a disaster which the community wants to forget. The name of the memorial sculpture is ‘Stabile’ which means something that is united and not easily moved or disturbed. It was designed and built by the Swedish artist, Lars Englund. Another Tsunami monument is T813 Ship, the ship under Police Department weighing 60 tons. It used to operate along Khao Lak’s coastline before being washed up by Tsunami stranded on the hillside around 1 km away from the shore at Baan Bang Nieng.

Café Kantary locates Kaolak Center, on Petchkasem Road. This outstanding bakery is decorated in clean white color and big windows. The bakery is divided into 2 zones; the air conditioned zone and the open air zone with a chilling atmosphere. In addition, there is a small area for selling souvenirs such as clothes and dolls for tourists to purchase. Café Kantary is considered to be a shop café that emphasizes on self service. Inside the bakery is able to accommodate 50-60 customers. The signature menu of Café Kantary is Oh la la Chocolate and Kantary Coffee Frappe. ONE DAY IN Florence การเดินทางมาเยือนประเทศในแถบยุโรป ช่วงฤดูหนาว คงไม่นา่ จะเป็นที่โปรดปรานของนักท่องเที่ยวแถบเมืองร้อนอย่างเราๆ กันเท่าไรนัก แต่สำ�หรับนักท่องเที่ยวบางคน การได้พาตัวเอง มาสัมผัสอากาศหนาวๆ และซึมซับบรรยากาศแบบยุโรป ทีห่ อ้ ม ล้อมไปด้วยสถาปัตยกรรมอันโดดเด่น และผลงานศิลปชั้นเลิศ น่าจะช่วยให้ลมื ความหนาวไปได้เยอะ ใช่แล้วครับสำ�หรับในเล่ม นี้ ผมจะพาคุณผูอ้ า่ นหลบร้อนไปสัมผัสกลิน่ ไอแห่งยุโรป ในช่วง ฤดูหนาวกัน Florence หรือ Firenze ตามภาษาท้องอิตาเลียน เป็นเมืองเล็กๆ ที่ตั้งอยู่ในแคว้น Tuscany ประเทศอิตาลี ด้วย เสน่หข์ องสถาปัตยกรรมทีน่ า่ สนใจ และถูกขนานนามกันว่าเป็น เมืองแห่งศิลปที่มีสำ�คัญมากแห่งหนึ่งของโลก เพราะได้รวบรวม เอาผลงานศิลปชัน้ เลิศ เอาไว้มากมาย ไม่วา่ จะเป็น รูปปัน้ Davis ที่ ปั้นขึ้นโดย Michelangelo และสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวสำ�คัญๆ ที่ขึ้น ชื่อว่า ใครที่มาเยือนประเทศอิตาลีแล้ว จะต้องไม่พลาดโอกาส ในการมาเยือนเมืองนี้อย่างแน่นอน จุดแรกที่ผมจะนำ�คุณผู้อ่านไปก็คือ มหาวิหารแห่ง เมืองฟลอเรนซ์ (Florence Cathedral) ซึ่งเป็นสถาปัตยกรรม ที่สร้างขึ้นในแบบ Neo Gothic ด้านหน้าโบสถ์ประดับตกแต่ง ด้วยหินอ่อนสีขาว เขียว และชมพู ซึ่งมหาวิหารแห่งนี้ใหญ่เป็น ลำ�ดับที่ 4 ของทวีปยุโรป ตามเมืองหลัก ๆ ในประเทศอิตาลี ก็จะมีมหาวิหารตัง้ อยูใ่ นย่านใจกลางเมือง และเรียกกันว่า Duomo เช่น Duomo di Milano ในเมืองมิลาน หรือ Duomo di Firenze แห่งเมืองฟลอเรนซ์ สิ่งที่ทำ�ให้ Duomo di Firenze สวยงามและโดดเด่น ไม่แพ้ที่อื่นๆ คือโดมขนาดใหญ่ที่อยู่ด้านหลัง ออกแบบ โดย ศิลปิน Brunelleschi และด้านข้างยังมีหอระฆังที่สูงถึง 85 เมตร ให้นักท่องเที่ยวไต่ระดับความสูงของบันได 463 ขั้น เพื่อ ขึ้นไปชมทัศนียภาพทั่วทั้งเมืองฟลอเรนซ์แบบ 360 องศา โดย เสียค่าผ่านประตูคนละ 6 ยูโร

ส�ำหรับจุดสุดท้ายที่อยากแนะน�ำคุณผู้อ่าน ถ้าหากมีโอกาส ได้เดินทางไปเมืองฟลอเรนซ์แห่งนี้นั่นคือ Piazzale Michelangelo จุดชมพระอาทิตย์ตกที่ผมว่าสวยที่สุดในเมืองเลย การเดินทางมาที่นี่ ผมแนะน�ำให้เดินทางโดยรถประจ�ำทางสาย 12 หรือ 13 จากบริเวณ หน้าสถานี Firenze SMN ค่าโดยสารเพียงเที่ยวละ 1.5 ยูโร สามารถ หาซื้อตั๋วได้ที่บริเวณร้านขายบุหรี่แถวๆ สถานีก็ได้ครับ จากจุดชมวิว ตรงบริเวณนี้ จะสามารถชมความงามของเมืองฟลอเรนซ์จากมุมสูง ได้ทว่ั ทัง้ เมือง และเห็นสถานทีส่ �ำคัญๆ ทัง้ หมดไม่วา่ จะเป็น Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, หอระฆัง Giotto’s Campanile ฉากของพระอาทิตย์ ที่ค่อยๆ ลาลับขอบฟ้าไป และสีของท้องฟ้าที่ค่อยๆ เปลี่ยนจากสีโทน ร้อนเป็นสีนำ�้ เงิน น่าจะช่วยสร้างความประทับใจให้กบั นักท่องเทีย่ วที่ได้ เดินทางมาสัมผัสเมือง Florence ได้เป็นอย่างดี
Winter might not be the favorite season for tourists from tropical country like us to visit Europe but for some tourists, experience European atmosphere during winter and surrounded by outstanding architecture and fine arts help forgetting the coldness. That’s right; this issue will take you away from summer heat and experience European winter. Florence or Firenze in Italian locates in Tuscany region in Italy. Because of its charming architecture, Florence is admired to be one of the most important artistic cities in the world because it gathers a lot of excellent art works such as the sculpture “David” by Michelangelo as well as many important tourist attractions. Florence must be on top of the list to go for those who visit Italy. I took off from Roma Termini station in Rome and reached Florence before noon. For those who want to travel to Florence, you have to get off at Firenze SMN. After putting my stuff at the hotel, it was the time to explore the city. The city was not really big. The roads were all connected and walk able, except for some famous viewpoints such as Piazzale Michelangelo which would be my last destination of the day to indulge in the evening scenery of Florence. The first attraction that I would like to take you to is “Florence Cathedral”. It was built in Neo Gothic architecture. The front of the cathedral was decorated with white green and pink marbles. Florence Cathedral is the fourth biggest cathedral in Europe. Each major city in Italy contains a cathedral in the center which is called Duomo such as Duomo di Milano or Duomo di Firenze. The thing which makes Duomo di Firenze beautiful and outstanding is the big dome at the back designed by Brunelleschi. At the side locates an 85 meters tall bell tower. Tourists are able to climb up the 463 stairs to see the panoramic view of Florence. The entrance fee is 6 Euro for each person. The next attraction locates just 700 meters away from Duomo. Take an easy walk and

you will reach “Palazzo Vecchio”, an ancient castle locates at the large square called “Piazza della Signoria”. Palazzo is prominent with its tall bell tower which was used to announce the news to the city’s residents in the old time. Not only that, there are many well know art works locating around the square. The most famous one is “David”, the masterpiece of the world renowned artist, Michelangelo. David at the square is the imitated sculpture. The real one has been moved to Accademia Museum of Florence for a safety reason and easy for maintenance. There are more sculptures at the front of the square to attract tourists such as Neptune Fountain built in 1575 with the name taken from Roman God of the sea, “Neptune” to celebrate the victory of voyages. Some other sculptures include Perseus who defeated his enemy by cutting off Medusa’s head and Grand Duke Cosimo I, the important ruler of Tuscany. Travel around 350 to 400 meters from the square you will then reach Ponte Vecchio, the old and most famous bridge in Florence. Ponte means bridge and vecchio means old. On both banks of the river used to be stores and butcher’s shops which now replaced by gold shops. However there are some spots on the bridge where tourists can take some good pictures. The last attraction that I would like to recommend if you have a chance to visit Italy is Piazzale Michelangelo. In my opinion, it is the city’s most beautiful sunset viewpoint. To get here, I recommend taking bus no. 12 or 13 from Firenze SMN Station. It costs only 1.5 Euro per trip. You can purchase a ticket from cigarette stores at the front of the station. From this viewpoint, you will be able to see the whole city of Florence from a high angle, especially the mentioned tourist attractions including Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and Giotto’s Campanile. The sunset scenery which paints the sky with warm color then slowly turns to blue creates a good impression for tourists who visit Florence.

TAT Pursues 2 Trillion Baht Revenue Responding to the Government Policies Mr. Surapol Sawetseranee revealed that “Other countries are jealous of the increasing number of tourists visiting Thailand last year. It is not only the number of tourists that increased but also the country’s revenue also increased. Our revenue increased 24% and the number of tourists increased 16%. It is beyond our target. The number of tourists visiting Thailand had resulted in billions of baht revenue. The government took this opportunity to make a policy for economic recovery. In 2015, the revenue is expected to reach 2 billion baht. In responding to the government policy, TAT organized marketing activities through its website which is considered to be one of the digital marketing strategies. The real goal is to present our readiness. Private firms have been investing a lot in the past 50 years. We just adjust our strategies to add more channels. During this era, digital marketing is an important factor that causes changes to the world. It is the reason why TAT launched Thailand Super Quality Website. The aim is to accommodate hi-end tourists with enough budget to spend but little time. With their limited time, surfing the webs to find information is a waste of time. Sustainable Development, with Modernity and Accuracy Mr. Att Thongtang discussed the opening of new centers that “Apart from opening 2 very important centers, we also opened the most beautiful ward and Presidential Suite which is exclusively designed to provide convenience to the guests. These 3 new features derived from our patient- centered perspective. The first center that we opened is the Gastro Intestinal and Endoscopy Center, and then followed by Brain and Mini Spine Center. These 2 centers received a very high demand from patients, for example; most patients with gastrointestinal diseases don’t realize that they have these diseases, so we upgraded our center to accommodate patients, create an easy access and manage patient circulation system. We also manage the air circulation system in the center as well as create a one stop service with modern technology to provide convenience. 38

Make a Progress by Using GPS to Connect with the Emergency Medical Service Khun Att discussed the connection with EMS that “According to the system, patients at the Brain Center have diseases which relate to the Emergency Medical Service. On Thonburi side, Phyathai 3 Hospital is considered a big hub of Bangkok Emergency Services Project, a project that raised the standard of Emergency Medical Service. There are not many institutions that are capable of creating this perfect system. EMS connects to the Brain Center via GPS which patients or relatives can register in case of emergency; the ambulance will be able to reach out to the patients in time. All of this allows us to minimize the time used to reach the patients and take them to the hospital. A Message to Thonburi Residents “I’d like to take this opportunity to represents Phyathai 3 Hospital and Phyathai Hospital Group to express our hope to have Phyathai 3 be a place to take care of the health of Thonburi residents. As mentioned earlier, we emphasize on continuation of development. There will be more changes and development to the hospital in the future.
