As the incoming Executive Director, I’m thrilled to be presenting this exciting program to you, the Mitchell community. The following pages demonstrate the richness of relationships we have developed, and the appreciation that these internationally renowned performers feel for your support in the past. From the youthful exuberance of the amazing Daniel De Borah, through to the experienced mastery of Yvonne Kenny AM, and a generous serving of artistic wisdom from the inimitable Richard Gill OAM, this program is one that any presenter across the country would be proud of. We are always thrilled to see Simon Tedeschi back in the region, the Alturas’ approach to Latin rhythms is ever-inspiring, and the always stunning, always surprising, Jane Rutter guarantees to delight music lovers of all ages. Virtuosi in their own fields - Nick Parnell, Paul Meyer and Andrew Robson will stun you, whether you’ve seen them before, or this is your first time; and Sydney’s Omega Ensemble, led by David Rowden, will show why they’ve been described as ‘the exciting new force in chamber music’ (SMH, 2006)

players and his mallets of steel. Nick Parnell makes old music new again, injecting energy into repertoire that might be familiar to some, but definitely inspirational to all, as evidenced with his latest album release, Vibes Virtuoso. Favourites from classic repertoire, including Gershwin’s Summertime, are re-interpreted for a vibrant listening experience – from the technically challenging to sheer lyrical beauty in the space of a heartbeat.
