Opportunities for String players

With a strong focus on fun, group piano lessons at Mitchell Conservatorium will introduce your child to the exhilarating worlds of music. With a maximum of four students per class, each child receives maximum attention. Lessons focus on introducing and consolidating the fundamental concepts of music with time spent on musical games, work at the instrument, movement and social aspects. Research indicates that learning music from a young age can promote coordination, language and reasoning skills, social interaction and confidence. At Mitchell Conservatorium we aim to promote these ideas through structured and unstructured learning within the classroom. Three year-olds explore the instrument and learn to create beautiful sounds with ease. Four year-olds learn simple tunes and create their own pieces whilst five year-olds begin to read notation and work on more complex pieces. Cindy says ‘Music is for life and life is for music!’ She is delighted to offer these special classes for your 3, 4 or 5 year-old on a Friday. Register now with the Bathurst office 6331 6622

Delight; live music is best Arts NSW projects 2013 will be the fourth year that Mitchell Conservatorium has received funding for performance projects. This year the two successful applications include eight concerts with three visiting artists; piano recitals with the sensational young virtuoso Daniel De Borah, the unique and entertaining piano duo of Simon Tedeschi & Kevin Hunt and the fabulous Seven Harp Ensemble (SHE) lead by Alice Giles. The grant from Arts NSW enables Mitchell Conservatorium to keep the ticket prices affordable and school age children attend free of charge. The second project is to develop and showcase the quality & talent of the student musicians who will have the opportunity to compose and perform their original scores mentored by Mitchell Conservatorium’s own Aaron Hopper. I look forward to seeing you at what promises to be a truly outstanding series of performances which demonstration the rich and varied musical culture we enjoy living in the Central West.
