Fraunhofer IBMT and InterSystems Sign Agreement about Applications in the Health Care Sector Migration of the D2D Medical Communication Solution to the Caché Post-Relational Database Agreed Hanover, March 14, 2006. At CeBIT 2006, Fraunhofer-Institut für Biomedizinische Technik (IBMT) St. Ingbert, Germany, and InterSystems, leading provider of application technology for the healthcare sector, have signed an agreement about using the Caché postrelational database in the D2D medical communication solution. The signed license agreement now covers the complete migration of the D2D servers operated by KV Nordrhein (Düsseldorf) for their medical doctors to the Caché post-relational database management system (DBMS). Objective of the migration is to ensure a better server performance and scalability to support the currently strongly increasing number of users and transactions. InterSystems is a global leading provider of application technology for IT solutions in the healthcare sector. The Fraunhofer IBMT has developed the D2D solution in cooperation with the KV Nordrhein and the KV BadenWürttemberg, and it is based on the technical approach of PaDok, an utmost secure communication solution for the healthcare sector. In the last few months InterSystems and IBMT have been collaborating to migrate the data management on the D2D communication server to the upto-date platform Caché. The first components of D2D have been migrated to Caché already before the trade fair Medica in November 2005. Under the agreement signed now the complete server operation of the KV Nordrhein will be migrated to Caché.
