Looking back, it was a couple of years with unexplained anxiety, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia and waking up in a panic that I just put up with before going to my GP
I put it all down to ageing and hadn’t really considered there was any help I could get with things.
I had cut out alcohol, as I just couldn’t tolerate it, taken up exercising again, improved my diet, but actually starting HRTis what finally helped.
I can now sleep a bit better and the anxiety has calmed, meaning I can enjoy my life and family again. I’m still not wanting to go back to a stressful full-time job, but can manage part-time circus teaching, which I love.
My children are definitely no longer babies, so dog sitting is our new thing. The odd glass of wine is also possible on occasion, if I’m willing to put up with a couple of days recovery time.
