In 1915 Lawrence Bragg was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics with Sir W H Bragg for work on X rays and crystal structures. The lace designed is based on the patterns created through Lawrence’s crystallography experiments. NCM 1962-43
Bridesmaid’s Dress, 1939 Blue Leavers lace of flowers and leaves with white cotton flossing, rayon net and taffeta; lace is from Donald and Co., Kayes Walk, Nottingham; made by Mrs Norman of Radford for her daughter Margaret to wear at the wedding of Mrs Mary Nicholson Baker (née Horney) at St Christopher’s Parish Church, Sneinton; then worn again at Margaret’s own wedding to Mr Glover at All Souls’ Parish Church, Radford in 1947 by her bridesmaid.
