Insomnia, anxiety, rage, night sweats, drop in libido. I’ve let go of caring what people think of me and my prices. I’m not the cheapest and not the most expensive, but I do a good job. I set out to give myself space, and that’s what’s important for me now. I’ve really slowed down. Letting go of people pleasing is such a relief.
The way the patriarchy is set up, as a younger caucasian woman I was able to use situations to my advantage. When men come to service my boiler, they think they are the hero. I decided to do this because my friend’s girlfriend went to train as a plumber. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, going back to college with loads of 16 year old blokes.
