Black Forest Model Railway
Swissness Applied
At 400 m², the Black Forest Model Railway is the largest European model railway based on a real model: the famous Black Forest Railway, which has been running between Offenburg and Constance since 1873. Like the original, the model of the Black Forest Railway is a real masterpiece of track construction. Around 30 current and older train set series master a height difference of 1.80 m on 1300 m of H0 track, past summer festivals, flocks of sheep and hiking trails in the beautiful holiday region. And when it turns to night, thousands of lights shine and conjure up a sea of lights in the hall.
Under the motto »Swissness Applied«, the US architect's office »Architecture Office« dedicates itself to Swiss architecture and the preservation of Swiss cultural heritage abroad in numerous projects, often with the help of FALLER building kits. This can be seen in a seminar at the University of Houston starting in January 2022. It’s exciting to see what the results will be. You can find more information at: instagram.com/_architectureoffice

»Winterberg« Citizens‘ Station »Futuristic, crystal-clear, colourful!« Modern multi-purpose railway station with arched roof based on the original model built in 2018 in the Sauerland winter sports resort of Winterberg. The roof construction is modelled on the local ski jump and spans several modules of the building ensemble. In addition to the floor-to-ceiling glazed station hall with DB sales counter, kiosk and toilets, the building houses a citizens‘ service office with a tourist service point, rooms of the adult education centre and the health and district youth welfare office, as well as a restaurant. In 2018, Winterberg received the »Station of the Year« award from the »Allianz pro Schiene« association for this »citizens‘ station« concept with its wide range of services, as being the most customer-friendly station. Air rescue station Ready for action around the clock. Modern air rescue base for ambulance and rescue flights, consisting of a helicopter hangar for maintenance and mission preparation, office building with operations centre, utility and common rooms for the crew, plus a model EC 135 helicopter**. Accessories for the design of the rescue base, including a mobile platform, windsock, antennas and a fuelling station included. Moving miniature worlds. The highlights of the model are various movement functions that mirror the sequence of operations: when the enclosed switch is pressed, the hangar doors open, the platform and helicopter move out, and the rotor blades of the helicopter start to turn. When the switch is pressed again, the rotor blades slow down and stop. The platform and helicopter can be moved back into the hangar and the doors closed. Shell constructions, roofs, facades and all building elements can be adjusted with just a few clicks of the mouse. Simply try out your ideas and form your individual creation.
3D printing at your scale of choice Your modelled design will be executed with all details in the modern 3D printing process, depending on the scale you have chosen, either in 1:87 (H0), 1:120 (TT), 1:160 (N) or 1:22.5 (POLA G). The body of the building, the roof and selected fixtures and fittings are sent to your postal address so that you can have your individual 3D model in your hands within a few days.
Perfect finishing Your FALLER CREATE models can easily be worked on afterwards, laminated or painted. The materials of the individual parts can be fixed with all common plastic adhesives and individually designed with suitable model colours. The white base colour of your model guarantees perfect results in terms of colour.
