S.E.A. & S.U.N. When people hear California, they probably think about the Sea, surfing, long beaches, the Sun and a wonderful weather. But the Sea is also the origin of life and the Sun is the source of almost all kind of energy we have in the Earth. What really means S.E.A. & S.U.N in this project and in San Diego context? S.E.A. means Seaweed Energy Artifact, a way of storage the Sun energy as the nature have done during the last couple of million years, a kind of battery, the organic matter. And S.U.N. means Sustainable Urban Network. Therefore S.E.A. & S.U.N. is more than renewable energy, it is a whole strategy that interacts with the city and improves it. From the city organic waste and sewage water, and also pollutant air from the freeway and factories will be taken to feed seaweeds bioreactors that will produce pure air, and clean water. This will be used as irrigation water in urban farms and we will obtain vegetables that will be sold in the farmers’ market. Furthermore the seaweeds will become biomass from where the city will get free energy. Finally people will learn about how to live in a responsible and more healthy way, according to a new urban culture. At urban scale different layers will join to form a complex city focused on the life and experiences of citizen. All green areas will connect as an urban net. But not only there will be parks, actually urban farms along 17th street will solve the East boundary with the freeway and connect both sides, and also green streets, such as the 14th, will be part of a green path from Balboa park to the San Diego Bay waterfront. The main axis in the area where S.E.A. & S.U.N is focused (between J St., K St., Park Blvd. and the free way) are K street and the 15th street. K street will be a pedestrian street that on one hand will solve the access to the future Chargers’ football stadium, and on the other hand it will be a gastronomic area related with the urban farms, Californian agriculture, the concept of Slow Food and a more heathy life style. 15th street will be a commercial core that once a week will house the East Village farmers’ market and improve the economic activity of the area. The heart of all this urban development will be a 24 stories building that will connect the main green areas and some surrounding building. It will mix different functions while it becomes a new urban land mark and part of San Diego skyline, not only recycling and electric power facilities, but also a market for improving the economic activity, an exhibition area that will teach people how to live in a more responsible and healthy way, and flexible houses and offices able to adapt to the new requirements of our society. Moreover children games and free gyms will allow people to join in the project transforming their exercises and games in electricity. Thus, during the night, all this energy will be used for illuminate the bioreactor with an special light that will allow seaweed to keep on doing the photosynthesis, the biomass production will increase in a 30% and the building will shine with a purple light. The connection between Balboa Park and the waterfront has been projected from long time ago but always postposed due to other projects. How to solve it? will be park ave. the solution or is needed a more complex greenery system? How to solve the connection through the freeway, and the connection with the waterfront? huge buildings have occupied the waterfront and the bay perspective has been lost.

The parking can become a terrace, a cafe or a stalls, for that reason line parking is always with the larger side walk giving a lot of possibilities of using street. Also at 15th st the same idea is used for house the weekly farmers market. The street becomes a whole pedestrian area.
When people exercise, their bodies emit heat and their muscles transform nutrient in movement, in other words, muscles produce kinetic and potential energy.

By dynamos, piezoelectric and triboelectric materials, it is possible to transform human movements in electricity. Also by "rough silicon nanowires", sport clothes can get electricity from body's heat.
Urban farms ar becoming more and more common around the word. It is a new way of understand the city for living in a more healthy and sustainable way.

Using 8ft parking lane it is possible to place a container without disturbing the street and sidewalks. In this way we can add in a very flexible way temporary uses to the streets, such as the farmers market or cafes, and not only remove it easily, but also, storage it.
Also it becomes a green area for the city and its inhabitants.
With piezoelectric materials on floor and spring-riders, a 40kg child produces: running: 1,25W/step * 150steps/min = 11.250W/h

The Green Microgym in Portland, Ore., has all the usual stuff you'd expect, but it has some extras as well. The gym uses specially configured exercise equipment that captures the energy you create while pedaling, converts it into electricity and channels it into the power outlets. VISITORS LONDON ZOO CENTER The project is located at The Regent’s Park, one of the Royal Parks in northern downtown London. From this suggested plot only is taken a small part next to London Zoo. This part is extended along the main park path. The rest is left as an open air green prairie with smooth hills that interacts with the building, surrounded by a tree belt, like 19th century English landscaping. The brief was to create a center for visitors. It consists of a new zoo access controls and a mixed-use main building that will improve the visitors experience. The main piece is like a folded sheet in shape, adapting to pedestrian paths and trees. Roof spreads getting access from paths and focus the people to the new zoo’s gate, while it rises up as a 57m-high landmark and view point tower. Exhibition areas and workshop rooms are located on ground level in a very flexible way. Rooms can open depending on the activity and the floor system allow to change freely the exhibition layout. The second floor has its own access from a ramp that allows temporary exhibitions, mediatheque and offices their own visiting hours. Finally, the tower is a vertical promenade that give visitors different points of view of Regent’s Park and its vegetation and fauna, particularly birds. On the highest story there is a cafe where people will enjoy great views of London skyline. Moreover, kiosk add activity to the main path. People will be able to enjoy cafes, flower shops and bookstores. As the kiosks are based on the container, they can be moved and it allows a flexible public layout that will adapt to the park activities. In conclusion, the entire project not only gives a new great throng entrance but also ties London Zoo with Regent’s Park and downtown London.
Bath Therme From Romans age, Bath has been known thanks to its hot spring water thermes. Keeping city traditions, the brief was to create thermal baths with gym, restaurant plus an hotel and common areas. The plot is located in Georgian downtown Bath between Walcot st. and Avon river. The project is adapted to the level difference of the plot. Its organic- shaped plan modifies bank river, making up a pedestrian promenade. Whole spaces are covered by a continuous folded sheet-shaped roof. Covering leaves top-lit opening and courtyards, while it gains and losses thickness containing cooling-heating air conditioning facilities. On ground floor, wide lobby gives accesses to hotel reception, restaurant and Spa. There is a lively split level which connects the two hotel stories by stairs and ramps. On lower floor there are arranged a coffee shop, audiovisual and gaming areas, whereas upper floor contains rooms and lecture suite. Simple fluid rooms set facilities back and whirlpool bath and bed are set on the middle, leaving free a full- height fixed glass facing Walcot st. On the basement there are changing suites, these separate reception areas and Spa, where visitors can enjoy gym, thermal treatments, massages and relaxing therapies. Interior looks like a wide cavern that combines top-lit opening with courtyards and a gazed branch window along Avon river frontage. Bath therme project pretends to rescue people who needs to flee from daily stressful nowadays life.
Alternative coletive housing in Sanchinarro Sanchinarro meant a new urbanism style in Madrid, promoting quality low-cost apartments projected by architecture studios such as MVRDV or Burgos & Garrido. By contrast, this urbanism concept went wrong planning a huge urban scale and forgetting retail spaces. Located in Sanchinarro’s core, in front of MVRDV’s holed building, the aim is to maximize the urban life mixing uses around a public-acceded landscaped courtyard. Practice is adapted to the plot, like a cut-corners triangle in shape. The inner garden gains access rising up strategic points on the perimeter and provides a venue for open-air activities. Leaning points accommodate halls moreover bigger functions like library, gym and spa, also work center and cultural meeting place. A bike and foot breach-shaped street facing interior courtyard goes along the building connecting housing, retails, community service and opened common spaces. Below pedestrian way are collected all the building facilities. There are three double-faced maisonette housing sizes (a 45 m2 one- bedroom apartment, a 65 m2 two-bedroom apartment and a 90 m2 two- bedroom and study apartment) with double-height fluid living spaces outside faced. Finally, this project suggests a new urbanism model allowing the traditional village life in the nowadays busy city.
