HORN SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
• Unpacking the horn speakers from their flight cases must be done by two people.
• Undo the flight case clasps and carefully lift the lid off vertically to ensure you do not knock the horns.
• Unpack contents carefully, taking care not to scratch the acrylic horns. Two people are required to carefully lift the horns from the flight case.
• Lay the horn face down on a soft clean rug or similar and then screw in the 3 small spiked feet.
• Then stand the horn on its feet and please place carefully in position.
• At all times when handling the acrylic horns make sure you do not scratch them with belt buckles, zippers, shirt buttons, rings, bracelets or anything else that may damage them.
• Unpack the accessories box that contains the spiked feet for the horn speakers, the bass speakers, the 2 phase plugs and the floor protector discs.
• Carefully unpack the horn speaker drive unit.
• Please note that the Ferguson Hill Drive Unit contains a very strong magnet and care should be taken in handling to ensure it is not placed on surfaces such as carpet that may contain ferrous material or small bits of debris as these can cause damage if they enter the coil gap. It is also advised that anyone with a pacemaker does not go near the magnet.
• Carefully put the drive unit in position at the back of the horn with the terminal posts at the bottom. Bolt in place using the 4 M5 bolts provided. Again this is a two person job, one holding the drive unit and another fitting the bolts. Tighten the bolts finger tight but not too much.
• Attach Speaker wires to red/black terminals of the drive unit.
• Finally put the pointed phase plug into position on the front of the drive unit taking great care not to touch the delicate cone. The phase plug simply slots on and is held in place by magnetic force.
• Floor protector discs are provided to protect polished or wooden floors.
• Always make sure that your amplifier is turned off and the volume is set to zero before plugging the horn speaker cables into the amplifier.

CARE OF SPEAKERS
The loudspeaker horns can be cleaned with warm water, a drop of detergent and a soft microfibre cloth. An acrylic polish such as “Vuplex” can also be used to keep a polished surface and prevent dust build up. Take care with other products as they may damage the Acrylic. Care should also be taken not to wet or damage the delicate drive unit.
Whenever changing or adjusting speaker wires and cables ensure that all components are switched off and when turning the system on that the main amplifier volume controls are set at minimum.
RUNNING IN PERIOD
As with all HiFi components the loudspeakers will require a period of running in. During this period the electrical and mechanical properties of the drive units and wiring will change resulting in a clearer, more even sound. This process may take up to 40 hours playing time.

BASS INSTALLATION
The Jetstream bass amplifier is a stereo 200W per channel (400W Total power) class D bass amplifier. It is constructed from 10mm thick CNC machined aluminium billets that have a bead blasted and anodised finish. The construction is fully damped internally, and it has a soft start and circuit protection circuitry. It has an internal low pass filter set to 140Hz, designed to acoustically match the Jetstream bass speaker output seamlessly with the Jetstream horn speakers. Its mains input is universal for 110V / 240V.
BASS AMPLIFIER SET UP
• Do not remove the cover from the bass amplifier.
• Do not handle the mains lead with wet hands.
• Never place heavy objects on the equipment .
• If a foreign object or water does enter the equipment, contact your nearest dealer or service centre.
• Do not pull out the plug by pulling on the mains lead; grasp the plug.
• It is advisable when during a thunderstorm, to disconnect the equipment from the mains supply.
• Always switch off and unplug the Bass Amplifier before cleaning and making connections. Whenever changing or adjusting speaker wires and cables ensure that all components are switched off and when turning the system on that
the main amplifier (that the Bass Amplifier takes its’ signal from) has its’ volume controls set at minimum.
• Under no circumstances must the outputs of the Bass Amplifier be shorted together. This can cause extensive damage.
• It is prudent periodically to check that all the connections between the Bass Amplifier and the bass speakers are tight and secure.
• In normal use the Bass Amplifier should run slightly warm to the touch. Wherever possible however leave an airspace of at least 75mm above the top panel to ensure adequate ventilation, since extended listening at high volume may cause a temperature rise. The bass amplifier has a soft start circuit, and thermal shutdowns are fitted inside. There is also an overload protection circuit with indicators on the front panel.
• This product is in conformity with the EMC directive and low voltage directive.
• The amplifier is multi regional. 115V / 230V.
• There is a fuse fitted to the I.E.C. lead. It is there only to protect the lead itself and is unlikely to fail. There is a T 4 Amp fuse fitted in a tray in the socket into which you can plug the cable. This must always be replaced with one of similar type and rating. A spare fuse is supplied (also in the draw).
• There are no user serviceable components inside either the Bass Amplifier or the Bass Speakers. Please refer all servicing to your dealer. Any unauthorised repairs or adjustments internally will invalidate the warranty.
BASS SPEAKER SPECIFICATIONS.

BASS SPEAKER AND BASS AMPLIFIER
The bass speakers and the Bass Amplifier have been carefully designed to work as a system along with the horn speakers. The filter network precisely mirrors the frequency response of the Ferguson Hill Jetstream horn Loudspeakers, so that when used together they will cover the entire audio spectrum.
The bass amplifier should be connected to the preamp output on your preamp or integrated amplifier with a stereo RCA lead.
The bass volume level can then be carefully adjusted to balance with the output from the horn speakers. This is best done whilst listening to a variety of music. After this the overall system volume control can then be adjusted from the pre amp or integrated amplifier.
RUNNING IN PERIOD
As with all HiFi components the bass system will require a period of running in. During this period the electrical and mechanical properties of the drive units and wiring will change resulting in a clearer, more even sound. This process may take up to 40 hours playing time.

SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
PLAN VIEW
FRONT ON VIEW
• Positioning of the loudspeakers is dependent on the size and shape of the listening room however a few points need to be considered.
• They will sound better and give a better stereo image if given a bit of space to the sides and to the rear. A gap of 2 feet or more from the rear of the horn to the back wall is ideal. It is recommended that they are toe’d in to crossover their axis just behind the listeners head. Bass units should be positioned so that their drive units are at the same distance from the listener as the horn drive units.
• The actual room also plays a great part in the sound quality of a speaker system. In general large flat hard surfaces such as large windows, hard walls and tiled or wooden floors should be broken up with curtains, rugs and soft furnishings to give a better sound quality to the speaker system.
• See sketch above showing typical installation.
• Please note that optimal positioning of the loudspeakers may take some time and experiment.
