CELEBRATING 35 YEARS! Starting as a demonstration program in 1980 as Brooklyn Hospice, MJHS began helping New York families with end-of-life care for their loved ones. Over the next 35 years, we became one of the most respected hospice programs in Greater New York. Our annual Hospice on Broadway event raises awareness and funds for the full range of hospice care services. By being part of this event, you help support our music and art therapy, caregiver support groups, spiritual care, bereavement support and other services that are not reimbursed by government programs or private insurance. CONGRAGULATIONS TO OUR 2015 HONOREES! KATHY A. MCMAHON Recipient of the
2015 Humanitarian Award Kathy A. McMahon is President and CEO of The Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State (HPCANYS). Kathy McMahon oversees all member and public services including community outreach, education, communication and public engagement activities. She effectively represents the needs of consumers and the membership to government officials, legislators, policy makers and other entities. Under her leadership, HPCANYS received the first Council of States Trailblazer Award from the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association, in 2012. Kathy has also been awarded Executive of the Year by the National Association for Home Care, and received the first Annual President’s Award from the Northeastern Affiliate of the NYS Public Health Association. Kathy serves on the NYS Palliative Care Education and Training Council, the NY Connects State Long Term Care Advisory Council, the NYS Cancer Consortium Steering Committee, the NYS Tribute Foundation and the Hospice-Veteran Partnership of New York State Steering Committee. She is past chair of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Council of States, and in that capacity served on the NHPCO Board of Directors from 2007 – 2009. Prior to joining HPCANYS in 2000, Kathy served as Director of Professional Education with the New York Affiliate of the American Heart Association and Executive Director of the Michigan Home Health Association.

2015 Corporate Partnership Award Estee Altman, R.Ph., M.B.A. — a highly experienced clinical pharmacist with hospital background — created Infusion Options, Inc. in 1996 as an infusion program that would enable a smooth transition from hospital to home for patients requiring high-tech therapies. Under her direction, Infusion Options, Inc. has grown and expanded over the years, providing comprehensive services — pharmacy, nursing, nutrition, durable medical equipment and clinical respiratory — to home care patients, physician practices, and facilities throughout New York City and Nassau County. Infusion Options, Inc. is accredited by the Joint Commission for all lines of service provided. Estee has achieved for Infusion Options, Inc. the designation of FDA and New York State registered “Outsourcing Facility” which allows for compounding of sterile solutions — under GMP protocols — to hospital in-patients throughout Greater New York. Estee Altman continues to be the leadership and face of Infusion Options, Inc., overseeing and directing all aspects of the company on a day-to-day basis to ensure high-quality and flexibility of services in order to accommodate the unique needs of each referral source and client. In addition, Estee designed and built the Institute for Sleep & Breathing Disorders at Maimonides Medical Center as well as the Maimonides Metabolic Support Service Department and the Community Nutrition Center.
