The Everyday Birdhouse - Posters

Page 1

HUMANS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CO-EXIST WITH NATURE. Birds have demonstrated to be resilient because they have not only recovered from losing habitats, but they have withstood the difficult conditions that cities and urban centers pose for them. We see them and hear them during our everyday activities, on our way to work or school, from our homes and backyards, and when we visit the great outdoors.

I HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL, TO THE POST OFFICE, TO VISIT MY AUNT...

Cities have replaces bird habitats, and many bird species have disappeared, although some species have adapted. They have found a way to thrive with the structures that we have built for ourselves without taking them into consideration.

As the dominant species, we believe that we must only fulfill our needs and we are selfish when it comes to nature. We have destroyed habitats and keep doing so; we build and think of our necessities and don’t think that we need other species to survive and to keep the world functioning. These species have needs as well, but we ignore this fact.

THIS IS US

Because they have adapted to our cities, we take for granted that they are around; we believe it has been an easy task, and ignore them every day.

I NEED TO DO HOMEWORK, TAKE THE TRASH OUT, WALK THE DOGS...
