Exterior views include a perspective shot of a parent and her child on the bridge connecting the proposed building to the neighbouring corporate building and the view of the proposed childcare building from Leadenhall street under the named building - capturing its colourful nature amidst the corporate district
The proposal is parasytic, with floorplans planted in the neighbouring skyscrapers to further emphasise the importance of a designated childcare space for working parents
In addition to the spiraling staircase and lifts, an internal floor-to-floor slide network is integrated into the building as a playful alternative for parents, staff, occupants or supervised children to use The render demonstrates the humor and playful nature of the proposal through the diverse demographic of slide preferring occupants
VIET MARKET & NOODLE BAR Masters Project Year II
Emphasizing the shared reception space between the market and restaurant - showing how colour is used to distinctify regions instead of walls and seperations Moving parts like the front elevation, market ladder and dumbwaitors show that the space transforms and can exist in various contexts - one for a busy lively market, another for a sensory cultural dining experience - all while maintaining the privacy and quiet of a private living space upstairs.
Perspectives show the noodle bar in use as it interacts with the architecture through the moving dumbwaiter that takes the food upstairs quickly to maintain its hot temperature
The site proposal axonometric includes extruded facade walls that extend into a retractable market tent. This creates a systemic routine for weekly market installments that allows easy preparation and clear up because the building is designed to for the tents to be erect The axonometric also demonstrates vehicle access for delivering weekly food orders for the restaurant and imported goods for the vietnamese market. This allows for easy accessed delivery and collection. The two prominent staircases are seen in the proposal existing to serve their respective functions with one being skeletal, open and of character to show customers going up and down the noodle bar floors - the other takes a solid form to emphasize privacy and to allude that it belongs to a private residential part of the building.
