Your mother prepared you emotionally and energetically for conditions that would lay ahead, for what circumstances would be dominant within your birthing life, as before birth you would have chosen what you’d need. All these things and more would begin your conditioning as the formation of early building blocks of character. Yet who were your parents but young people in their own right, with hopes, dreams, goals and outlooks of their own. They just like you simply needed to belong; they were searching for love, truth and meaning within their own unfolding story, in the same manner as generations before...

his car looks the part on and off road.
The engine on this car is a 3.0 TDI which has excellent performance considering the size of the car and its sad to say it feels a lot more refined than the VW 4x4 we test drove in December.
pretty good off road capabilities so it really give you peace of mind in the winter. The gear change and ride on this multi-tronic gear box was extremely smooth, these German boys certainly know how to build a car!! Inside this car is stunning the interior is a work of Art the model we drove had full leather and so many extras I can’t list them I really liked the Sat Nav how it seamlessly popped out the dash and all the brushed aluminium felt very special. Audis MMi system is also very impressive, this is computer which controls everything on the Car from the ride to the sat nav and again this is a great system and very user friendly even connecting my phone to the blue tooth was very easy, on some cars now it seems you need a degree in IT even to do this. It’s also really nice that this great looking estate car also has

It drives great & looks good my only criticism would be its fuel economy isn’t great, they maybe should have made a 2.0TDi allroad option although they do an A4 allroad 2.0tdi if your budget can not stretch to this one. 2014: Employment Law Update
J
ust as we’ve got used to some significant changes for the Employment Tribunal system as well as other important changes that we’ve kept you abreast of in 2013, what does 2014 hold?
Below are a few of the changes that will definitely occur this year and a few others that we’re awaiting confirmation on:
January TUPE reforms. There are a number of changes on the law on TUPE, the main ones being: Service provision changes – activities must be “fundamentally or essentially the same” in order for TUPE to apply. Employer liability information needs to be provided 28 days before the transfer date, rather than 14. Employers with less than 10 staff are now allowed to inform and consult with their staff directly where there is no appropriate representatives. As long as any changes are no less favourable to the employee, the new employer can negotiate terms from collective agreements one year after the transfer. The definition of ETO (economic, technical or organisational reason) will be amended to include a change of location of the workforce – a “fair” reason for redundancy following a transfer – however, a dismissal under TUPE will be unfair.
February You may already be aware that with the introduction of auto enrollment for pensions being put in size of the company with different staging dates, those with 250 or more employees started on 1 October 2012 ending on 1 February 2014, those with between 50 and 249 employees the staging date starts on 1 April 2014 and ends on 1 April 2015.
April ACAS will introduce the Mandatory Pre-Claim Conciliation. This means that claimants will need to

lodge details of the proposed ET claim with ACAS, who will then offer the parties – for one month only – a conciliation officer to try and resolve the issue prior to Tribunal. If either party refuses conciliation, or the conciliation fails or the period expires, then ACAS will provide a certificate to that effect, which will need to be presented at Tribunal. ACAS will, however, continue to be available to conciliate if a Tribunal claim is issued. Financial penalties against employers who lose in Tribunal will take effect from April, if it’s found that the employer has breached employment rights following an “aggravating feature”. However, “aggravating feature” has yet to be defined but could include the size of the company, the duration of the breach and the behaviour of both the employer and the employee. Tribunals could impose a financial penalty of up to £5,000, although this could be halved if paid within 21 days – all of which will be at the Tribunal’s discretion. Extended flexibility working requests rights will come into force on 6 April. All employees with 26 weeks’ continuous service will have the right, under the Childrens and Families Bill, to request flexible working which is no longer limited to those with children or caring responsibilities. New rates for statutory payments will increase on 6 April – details of which will be confirmed in due course.
Anticipated Changes Expected this year are equal pay audits, which will provide Tribunals with the power to order employers with more than 10 employees to carry out an equal pay audit, should they lose an equal pay claim. Around the Spring time, where employees have been signed off sick for four or more weeks, employers will be able to take advantage of a state funded assessment to be undertaken by an occupational professional.

was delighted by the news at the end of last year that Alan Turing, the Codebreaker from Bletchley Park, was awarded a posthumous pardon under the Royal Prerogative of Mercy. This was the culmination of many years of campaigning by many people who recognised the massive debt of gratitude we, as a nation, owe to Alan Turing. His efforts during the Second World War at Bletchley Park undoubtedly shortened the war by a number of years, saving thousands of lives. This royal pardon finally sees justice for a man who was stripped of his honour, his work, and the loyalty he showed his nation. Another legacy of the Second World War that it is appropriate to mention at this time of year is Holocaust Memorial Day. Certainly the Holocaust was one of the darkest chapters of human history, and it is important to remember the millions of innocent people killed on an industrial scale by the Nazi regime. The 27th January marks the 69th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp AuschwitzBirkenau. Events will be taking place both nationally and locally to mark the occasion and I took the time to sign the Holocaust Memorial book of commitment in Parliament.

This month I was also delighted to join Mike Mullen, World BMX Masterclass Champion, for a visit to The White Spires School in Bletchley. This visit was part of the national Sky Sports Living for Sport project. 10 students from White Spire were given a session from Mike on BMX as a sport, as a means of teaching them leadership and other life skills. It is always a joy to see young people grow in confidence and for them to have faith in their own abilities. Sport is a great way to develop this confidence and improve learning and creativity. Finally, Milton Keynes is continuing its drive to connect young people with opportunities for future careers and employment. The centre:mk is hosting both the MK Job Show on the 25th January, and the Young Enterprise Milton Keynes Trade Fair on the 26th January, I know both events will be a success.
