Omar Kinnebrew FASHION DESIGNER MK: What inspires you to be a designer? OK: Instead of a designer, I really see myself as a luxury clothier. I take great joy in being able to help clients bring a particular look to like and then craft it in a way that allows them to exude effortless style and maximum confidence.

MK: Tell us what defines you personally? OK: I have been fortunate to understand the importance of perseverance from a very young age. We all know (especially entrepreneurs) that nothing is simply handed to us. We must go out and fight and strive for everything worth obtaining, whether it be money or happiness. Perseverance also provides me with the fuel to pick myself up when something has gone wrong, or to navigate through the trials and tribulations of adversity in business and life.

MK: What are some personal goals or challenges you have achieved? OK: We have experienced a year over year revenue growth of more than 30% for the past 2 years and have begun to expand our sales team. We face challenges everyday due to the fact that we provide a custom crafted product for clients in various geographic regions.

MK: What makes you unique? (please be specific) OK: It?s simple, we can craft almost any type of garment or shoe for men and women across the globe. However, we do not yet dabble in formal gowns or high heels, but that is not something we look to specialize in.

MK: Tell us about some memorable moments of your designer ambitions? OK: The very best feeling and most memorable moment was when I decided to take the business from a side project to a fulltime brand venture. WWW.M KOVAHM AGAZINE.COM APRIL 2019

MK: What are the things in your city or country that inspire your creativity? OK: We are in a very young metropolitan city with tons of growth. With this, we have seen an influx of individuals from various cities and countries and they bring their own style and ideas to our region. This is something we like to feed off of and incorporate into our pieces if it fits into the vision of the client as well.

MK: How is the designer scene where you are from? OK: We are based out of Atlanta, GA USA and the fashion scene is growing rapidly. Due to the growth of the film and music industries, the design element was following right behind. There has been an influx of designers and clothing brands that have emerged over the past few years. This is always good because it brings more clients to the region in search of unique offerings and it also spurs even greater creativity.

MK: What kind of feedback you are getting from fans/customers? OK: It has been overwhelmingly positive, especially since we are a younger brand. We have a faster than usual production time frame and very attractive pricing in comparison to our industry and competition. We are constantly engaging with clients post-purchase to understand what we can improve upon and the ability to make changes very quickly has helped us ever further. Our offering is quite solid so we will continue focusing on team and client expansion. MK: Tell us about the type of fashion you represent. What is the general focus there? OK: Bespokuture as a brand focuses on providing all the custom pieces our clients may ever need. Meaning we can provide unique jacquard tuxedos for a wedding party, custom boots for the streetwear advocate, a power suit for the female CEO, jeans and bags for the casual traveler, or an overcoat for a Parisian executive. Depending on our client?s style preferences, our looks can easily range from classic to modern, from American to European, from Summer to Fall. We have the ability to craft what our clients need, when they need it. MK: Reflecting on your personal journey what advice would you give others struggling with getting into industry in general? OK: It doesn?t happen overnight!! Although there are trends in this industry that seem to come out of nowhere and then vanish, it truly takes time to establish your footprint in this industry. Research the personal and professional journeys of all the designers or brands that inspire you to see that none of them were thrust into stardome in one day. Perseverance is the key, but you need a strong dose of reality as well. If you want it bad enough and it?s worth pursuing, then go for it. Not tomorrow, but start right now. MK: Why did you agree to be featured in Mkovah Magazine? OK: Honestly, I am all for any exposure that will showcase the brand in the right way. Especially with the right avenue like Mkovah Magazine. I also like sharing my story to showcase that you can without a doubt live out your dreams; you just have to find the most feasible path to get there. MK: What inspires you to be in fashion industry? JB: I have been an artist all my life. I started drawing at age 2. I started making clothes for my dolls about the same age. I used to cut socks and make skirts and tops. My mother was a seamstress so I had access to a sewing machine. I started making my own clothes at age 14. I was anti trend. I always wanted to create my own trend. I did, a lot of girls started to dress like me after. At 21, I became a model so I made clothes for myself. I started making clothes for people later on.

MK: Tell us what defines you personally. JB: I think what defines me as an artist and as a designer is that I like to stand out and create unique intricate pieces that nobody has seen before. You are one of a kind and should wear one of a kind pieces! I make wearable art. Don't blend in the crowd when you were made to stand out! Choose to shine at every step!

MK: What are some personal goals or challenges you have achieved? JB. My dream since I was 13 and fell in love with James Dean was to move to Los Angeles and become an actress. I was born and raised in Romania and everyone?s dream is America. It was my lifetime obsession, to move to LA. I had a dream to fulfill and God had a plan for me. In Romania I worked as an illustrator for every magazine, newspaper and publishing house. I have illustrated books published, many magazine covers as a model and photographer. I was in front of the camera and behind it, I love creating beauty. I used to work for magazines as a photographer, illustrator, writer, model. I did acting also. That was my childhood dream. I love acting. My dream was also to pose in Playboy before I am 25 and go to America before I was 30. And I have accomplished both. I posed in Romanian Playboy at 24 and I saw America first time at 30, when I went to James Dean festival in Fairmount Indiana. That was an amazing experience.

MK: How is the designer scene where you are from? JB: Romanians love fashion, they love trend and love to show off. They would spend all their money on expensive clothes, nice cars and phones even if they are broke and can?t pay the rent. I think that is a bit of snobbism. I never liked to follow trends, I always loved to create them.

MK: What kind of feedback you are getting from fans/customers?

MK: What makes you unique? JB: I think originality and being unique comes with your background experience, knowledge and passion for what you do. I am the definition of eccentric luxury. Everything is hand crafted in high detail for an amazing appearance. I don?t just sell clothes, I create an image, I put you in the center of attention and I make people talk about you after. They won?t forget you. Because you will shine. Be unique! Be special! Be a goddess! Be a Jessebelle! Jessebelle is a character I created and I made clothes with her, using my own paintings and digital art. She is the sexy bitch that knows what she wants and she goes and gets it! She is a mix between Jezebel and Super Woman. Strong

JB: I?m getting the wow factor every time. Nobody just passes by without coming in, taking pictures, saying OMG or WOW! They love the fact that I do customized pieces. I guess is nobody in LA that does custom bedazzled clothes. They needed somebody like me. Most pieces in my store are hand made, I worked many years on them before I finally opened a boutique. I make not just bedazzled clothing, but also shoes, I sew and bedazzle purses, I make headpieces, jewelry, I sculpt roses and make rings and necklaces. I make bracelets from silver forks and spoons. I make natural soap and bath bombs. They look very artistic.

JB: I really want to dress Cardi B! I love her!!! I dressed a lot of celebrities, I made a crown for Tyra Banks for Remix magazine cover, I dressed singers, more or less famous, but my goal is to dress Cardi B. I made a little bedazzled jacket for her daughter Kulture and I am making one for her. I love her music and her personality. I used to dance like her and now I dress celebrities and I own a business

JB: The general focus is to make you shine! To bring out the sexy girl that hides inside and wants to come out! To make you get all the attention you deserve. Because you deserve it!

MK: What are the things in your city or country that inspire your creativity? JB: I was born and raised in Romania, in a city on the beach, I always loved the beach. That?s why I needed to move close to the ocean. It inspires me.

MK: Reflecting on your personal journey what advice would you give others struggling getting into industry in general? JB: I guess the main advice is not to give up. Success doesn?t come over night. It?s a continuous build up. A lot of struggle and failures. You have to learn from that. The only secret to success is to keep going until you make it! There is no stop and no turning back! I started my artist journey at 20. I was very known in Romania. In 7 years I have accomplished a lot. I was in every magazine, on every tv channel, radio stations, in a famous tv show comedy and invited as an artist on many tv show talks. People started to recognize me on the street. I was also on many magazine covers so every newspapers stand had my face all over. My dream was to move to LA but because I couldn?t find a way from Romania, I found a way to move to Canada which was closer to America and on the same continent. I lived in Canada for 15 years and hated every minute of it, but I was getting prepared for my move that I knew will eventually come. I went to many schools, art, acting, jewelry, graphic design, tattooing, dancing. I had many art shows in Canada and USA. I had an art show in Manhattan New York and Las Vegas. In Canada the art scene is completely dead. I had to dance and do tattoos to make ends meet. I even wrote couple of books. One is a novel about my life and is called ?DRIVEN- the girl that never gave up.? I had a store in Venice beach where I didn?t make any money because it was all tourists and people that wanted to go to the beach. I didn?t know about Melrose Avenue before. As soon as I found out about this amazing place called Melrose Avenue where all the singers, performers, celebrities come, I closed the store in Venice and moved here. I wanted to give up many times but I couldn?t. This is God?s plan for me. I can?t disappoint him. I have to keep going. Don?t give up and trust God. Keep going until you reach your goal. Do not stop!

EMILY DAWN -TODAY'S INSPIRATION Would you believe me if I told you this is only 6 years apart from each other? I sometimes look back and just amaze myself with the growth and knowledge I have gained in just 6 short years. It was hard, I nearly completely gave up on myself along the way. I didn?t know what direction my life was going to go because I wasn?t living with purpose or true intentions.

I have been beyond blessed with the people and opportunities I have had in my life. I truly believe everyone one I have met have taught me something whether it was bad or good; I grew! Some believed in me way before I started believing in myself. Some had tough love, but I don?t hold it against them...I was a pretty strange and odd individual even to me. When I think back at some of the things I did out of wanting to fit in, giving into a lot of peer pressure, searching hard to be someone I wasn?t and I blamed everything wrong on everyone and anything other than myself. I?ll never forget always holding on to that stomach cringing feeling of anticipating for the shoe to drop again at any moment. Someone once told me something that really led me to another way of my thinking. They had told me, ?Emily what if you are the shoe?? I didn?t understand it at the time until later when everything just seemed to be going wrong even when I thought I was doing everything right. I realized I had to stop saying ?something bad always happens to me no matter what I do,? so I started asking myself what if something goes wrong? what are the warning signs or steps before the chaos happens? self REf lect ion What can I do or accomplish before the chaos? I started with my actions creating an environment that I could prosper from. It wasn?t easy, I soon realized that no one believes in you or your ideas or dreams more than yourself. You are only as fearlessly and wonderfully made as you allow yourself to be. You are not your past mistakes, you aren?t your old selves, hell you aren?t even the same person you were yesterday. You owe it to yourself to create the life you truly desire. If you can?t stop dreaming or even thinking about it then it?s clearly something you could finally allow yourself permission to create the life you dream of. We tell ourselves dreams are just that....silly dreams. But each action we do everyday reacts to the next action or habit until eventually you have created a space of healthy habits, positive thinking and allowing yourself permission to be truly happy. We all have bad days, but let?s keep them just that, a bad day; instead of allowing them to creep to crappy days, weeks, months or worse consuming your entire soul to cave in on it?s self. You wouldn?t let anyone else treat you bad or allow them to tell you can?t follow your dreams or that you aren?t enough....so why would you allow yourself to have those thoughts on repeat daily in your head. Loving yourself isn?t easy in a world that would rather sell the hottest diet trend or the constant ads and products telling us how we can constantly fix your body. Learn to love your life based on being proactive in creating a life worth living. Because you ARE worth it!

Growing up, I never thought I?d see my life plan out the way it has. I left from Missouri and moved to Dallas, TX in 2017. A year after, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. It is a Cancer within the immune system and it also spread throughout my bones. It was unbelievable firsthand and I thought my life was over. After fighting depression and with the help and support from family, I dropped my low self-esteem, dropped my low faith and got myself together. I decided to start modeling to eventually be a role model for those who struggle with confidence issues and who don?t recognize their natural true beauty. The scars I have are a reminder from my previous illness and I embrace every single one because I know it makes me more beautiful inside and out. God made me a certain way and I will never question him again.
