M KOVAH magazine was and being developed to be a platform for those who are dreamers. Those who are inspired by being the stand out. The difference maker. The one who says "I made it". To those who see themselves beyond where they are. Those who do not offer excuses. Those who believe that God has ordained their success. Those who have experienced pain, suffering and tribulations and have faced it. Those who stare down fate and not fate staring down on them. MKOVAH magazine is a movement. Not a sugar coated cat walk in the park. A reality check for us all to be the absolute best our greatest vision of ourselves can imagine.

TORONTO, CANADA MK: What inspires you about being a business owner? MD: The ability to share your passion with clients and to feel them immediately being engage in the of creating something exclusively for them is sincerely the greatest part of my business. The love that I feel when a client comes in to try their garment for the first time, that smile that they give you? As a designer and business owner there is nothing greater than that feeling.

MK: What got you started as a designer?

experience and overwhelmed with joy with the process

MD: I had an opportunity to have my first custom suit done and going through the process for me, was a true defining moment in my life. It was like pandora?s box had been opened. Playing with the best fabrics in the world and being able to customize every single design ideas was absolutely infectious and is still my passion in life!

MK: What has been your personal observation concerning the fashion industry? MD: There has been a huge client shift and this not just in the fashion industry but as well in Advertising, Retail, Architecture,Finance. The frustration felt by clients of doing business has been stifling the Status Quo of big corporations/ luxury retail for quite some time now. Clients are looking for an experience, not a label! They want to feel special and engaged. They are choosing for themselves a different custom experience and relationships. Smaller brands/offices have emerged (such as myself) in seizing this opportunity and gaining huge parts of the market in going back to how business was done before, with passion, genuineness and craftsmanship. Delivering on uncompromising high quality work. WWW.M KOVAHM AGAZINE.COM JAN 2019

The goals are to keep the delivering on impeccably tailored garments that has to be my number one focus. We do have exciting movie projects in the new year and I would love to be featured in more publications, Media platform and the film industry as I am now a CAFTCAD member. As a young business the challenges always lie with exposure, consistently work to make the public be aware that you exist and to have them share your voice is imperative and the most difficult part of my day to day.

MK: What inspires you to shoot? PR: Much of my inspiration comes from within. I shoot my emotional and personal experiences from my past and present. My feelings and perceptions of society fuels my art. To put it simply, I shoot my mindseye. MK: What are some learning curves you are experiencing? PR: The most dramatic learning curve I experienced was when I transitioned from Landscape to Portrait Photography. It was a very different way of using my camera and bending light. It was also an adjustment to work with models and provide direction while adjusting composition. It is just a very different way of creating art. MK: What are your goals for your future in photography? PR: I wish to continue to push the boundaries of my creative side while sharing my art with the world. I do not plan on ever stopping photography. MK: What feedback to the industry would you like to give? PR: I would tell artists to believe in themselves and to hustle. Do not stop learning and continue to chase their love and passion for art. MK: What are some challenges you have overcome? PR: One of the challenges I had to overcome was societies view on what is or is not art. Having the ability to create beauty and the freedom of expression and individualism. This should be celebrated, not hidden. Once I was able to accept and overcome this view, my art blossomed. MK: Why did you decide to work with Mkovah Magazine? PR: Mkovah Magazine inspires independent artists to push their creative side. They support freedom of expression and are brave enough to share. MK: Thank you very much for your interview. PR: It is an absolute honor to be featured and Thank You sharing my art with your readership.

MK: What inspires you to be a photographer? RK: One of the main things that inspires me as a photographer is the ability to view the world on a deeper more detailed level than the average person. As my ?eye? grows I see how beautiful the world actually is.

MK: Tell us what defines you personally? RK: One main thing that defines me personally is my desire to be my best self. I'm a true believer that self mastery is a major key of life.

MK: What are some personal goals or challenges you have achieved? RK: Getting a studio was one of my biggest personal goals I?ve achieved. Getting my photography to a level to shoot with signed models from major agencies and getting published was another major goal.

MK: What makes you unique? (please be specific) RK:A major thing that makes me unique is my ability to use nothing but natural light. I don?t use studio light and I rarely use a light reflector. For example, I shot a model in front of a black back dropped using the sunlight from my window. I manipulated the light by adjusting my curtains. When I released the pictures many of my followers thought I used a studio light set up. It took years to understand natural light and I proud myself on that skill. MK: Tell us about some memorable moments of your photography ambitions? RK: I will tell you about my most recent. During the end of November I flew out to London and shot with Milk Model Management. That moment was really amazing for me because going overseas always seemed farfetch'd but I see now more than ever nothing is farfetch?d.

MK: What inspires you to be a photographer? FG: Photography unearthed the creative spark inside of me and enabled me to move beyond my troubles, ultimately brings me joy. I love bringing an image from my imagination to reality.

MK: Tell us what defines you personally? FG: I believe in people. Raising others up and helping each other get to new levels can make you not just a better artist, but also a better person. I don?t view others as competitors but more like peers. The photography community is much better when we focus on our love for the art so I?m always up for sharing what I know with other new aspiring photographers.

MK: What has been your main goal with photography for your community? FG: I love working with models, makeup artists and fashion designers that I truly believe in. To be able to help show off a designer ?s inspirational creations on models who inject soul into the designs that help create a final masterpiece - is a dream come true. It?s a great feeling when people you look up to in the community have the same respect for you and put that trust in you to capture their goals. It?s beautiful.

MK: What are some personal goals or challenges you have achieved? FG: Convincing my parents that photography itself is more than just a hobby was the biggest challenge I?ve overcome so far. They had put me on the route of Engineering in hopes that I could have a stable and safe career path. Creativity output was only accepted as side projects. For a long time I did try to make that happen and keep them happy. It took me nearly 5 years for me to discover that not being my true self was the most unstable and destructive path. MK: What makes you unique? (please be specific) FG: My personal life journey is what makes me unique. Whilst not every part of my life seemed like a positive event at the time, looking back at it now, I can see how it contributes to my working process and ultimately helped me to stand out in the world of photography. I started painting when I was a toddler, Engineering when I was a teenager and once I discovered photography during my twenties; I was undergoing huge changes mentally. Subsequent to dealing with long term depression, I risked everything from relationships to giving up a ?secure?future in pursuit of my passion. When I read a brief or plan a project, I envision the image I want to create, 9 times out of 10 it?s very similar to the end result. Surprisingly, Engineering has helped me develop a knack for problem solving and planning. These skills guide me when I create sets for the shoot and allowing me to achieve the desired effects.

MK: Tell us about some memorable moments of your photography ambitions? FG: My friends invited me to go to Hyper Japan Festival at the London O2 arena in 2015. I was only one year into photography at the time. When I saw the photos from previous festivals, my eyes lit up and I thought this was a great chance to shoot at an event which also included a fashion show. A week later I managed to be hired as the official head photographer for this event. I didn?t have much professional experience prior to this event, so it was great confidence booster for me and they were impressed with the photos I delivered.
