Song/Book/Movie piece

Mallory Kuchis Life is full of memories; memories that are made with friends, families, boyfriends/girlfriends, and memories that are made when you are alone. There are so many songs that remind me of other people and many of them I listen to all the time and never get tired of them. A few of them are “Until the End” by Breaking Benjamin and “What is Love?” by Haddaway. There are also movies that remind me of memories in my life. One specifically is called the Wizard of Oz. When I was younger, my favorite movie was the Wizard of Oz. I watched this movie constantly and it never got old. I watched it so much that my parents started comparing me to the characters in it. I was a ditzy girl when I was younger and for that reason my parents and family called me the Scarecrow because he didn’t have a brain. I’m not sure why I loved this movie so much but it became a ritual for me to watch it daily. I loved the music and songs, the dog Toto and how he tries to get stolen by the Wicked Witch, and how the movie magically changes to color after the tornado. And I admired Dorothy because she was so beautiful and she was so helpful to everyone she met along her journeys. Every time I watched it, even though I knew the ending, I would hope that Dorothy would make it back to Kansas safe and sound. This was my favorite childhood movie that will always be special to me along with a song that brings back great memories with my sister. My sister and I have many songs that we constantly listen to with each other because of good memories but the one that will never get old no matter what is called “What is love?” by Haddaway. When we were younger we heard this song, most likely from the Best of Will Ferrell Saturday Night Live movie, and we automatically loved it. We thought it was hilarious and it’s a catchy tune so we picked it up right away. Later on, we watched the movie “A Night at the Roxbury”. We learned about the skit that we watched in the SNL movie and that movie became a hit on our house. Soon we got our friends singing it and laughing about it too. My sister loved it so much that she got it as a ringtone for her phone. It never got old and even now when we are listening to our IPods on our docks and the song comes on when we are together we automatically start doing the head twitch that Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan do in the movie pretending we are in the car driving around at night after we got rejected from the club that we’ve been trying to get into and doing random things picking up random people. These songs and movies are a big part of my life and help me remember the good times that I’ve shared with my family and friends. These songs carry my memories and for that reason I will always remember the best times in my life just from those songs and movies.
