Position Statement “The subject matter of economics is the use of scarce resources to satisfy the competing wants of humans (and arguably of other sentient beings). Wants are taken to embrace both physiological needs and psychological desires: economists do not on the whole seek to distinguish the two categories. Among these wants are aesthetic ones, and among the scarce resources are the land and sea and sky, which are referred to as natural resources, although all are now pervasively modified by human activity. If the subject is seen in this way, discussion of landscape inevitably has an economic dimension.” Colin Price The final outcome of this study is to explore how the role of landscape architecture plays in the decision making in relation to the economics and financial changing, and exploring the intervention and evaluation from different disciplines influencing the current occupation on site, representing from past through the future prediction. Mckenna (2016) once stated in his book, we can see how the geographical landforms and the appearance of city were reshaped by the development and time, the land is composited of the histories it carried. The current modern cities have changed significantly through its economic, technology developments and other anthropologic factors, we build the hard infrastructures earning more profits instead of farmland, expanded the occupation territories for human activities but neglect how abundant in natural resources in ecology. We start to balance, discuss and face issues and phenomena that have been created by pursuing a better profit or for human goods until current era. A description in Mckenna (2016) his book revealed what we had seen in the priority from the European colonization - Utility. It is also related to the speech of Living Cities Forum 2018—Saskia Sassen, how has the globalization and the financial instruments change and create the phenomenon in cities all over the world in the contemporary era. “How much for the view?” Price (1978) brought a thought “it is explicit that landscape is imbued with economic meanings: ‘Landscape, it can be said, is the perceived environment which results from the interaction of the earth’s resources and humankind’s needs.” and as in the sense of landscape ecologists, as living things occupied territories, within interactive processes occur, the economics of landscape bears upon everything that occurs – on the scurrying human condition of getting and spending (and, by analogy, the transactions and decisions of other creatures), with landscape as the arena are played out. Price (2011) Therefore, a curiosity of what intervention of landscape architects made in this financial phenomenon, by drawing the sections to unfold historical changes of the site and narrate how has the economic, social, ecological and landscape architectural relationship in between evaluation, intervention and decision making can be discussed and to develop at the present and the future.
Introduction The seminar is exploring the section as a representation technique, from the technical to the emotive, using sequential sections to develop a montage of procedural spaces as we move through the site. The outcome as following pages presents a series of 8 sections drawn throughout the site, to represent the study of the interest of exploring what and how landscape architects could do and to be part of financial phenomena influencing on site occupation from past through the future prediction.
Site Area The study site area is a 11km linear corridor beginning at Epping train station and terminating at Keon Park train station. This linear corridor is composed solely of public assets, such as waterways (Darebin Creek), train lines, powerline easements and pipe tracks. The gradient color patthen shows the viewpoint from Landscape Architects that assessing the how the changes of the projects and constrcuction effected on site at present stage. The color thickness represents the effectiveness.
The monochrome color patthen shows the viewpoint from Landscape Architects that assessing the how the changes of the projects and constrcuction effected on site in the past. The color thickness represents the effectiveness.
These color patthens represnt the assumption of portion of each professional in decision making in planning or in management framing. The higher the strip pattern shows effectiveness of the role of each professional. Yellow ---------- Sociologist (Social aspect) Green ---------- Ecologist (ecological aspect) Orange -------- Economist (economic aspect)
These number and value mark what the cost of the projects and changes are and how those changes created the level of value from different aspect (assumptional).
The linear patthen shows the trends of the value or the trends of price changing.

Refelction
The study initially was to discussing the thought of the how landscape architecture related to the finanial instrument phenonmena, however during the reseach stage, it was really dificult to get the accurate and fisrst-hand data. Even though finding the second-hand data, it was not directly relative to the economics or the financial instrument phenomena that the study discuss to. But knowing this, as my thought, this also brings a finding that in discussing this viewpoint, there still have not accumulated as much a mount of data and debates as generally seraching in relation to ecology and social-ecology etc. Therefore, the study switched the main focus that focussing on less relative in terms of financial instruments but still looking into between diciplines(economic, social, ecological and landscape architectural relationship) in desicion making, evaluation and intervention in relation to economics and finanial changing. Still, it was not easy to jump out the existing mindset when representing and adapting techniques into the sections. Although there are a lot of barrires, it is glad and worthy that still acquired new knowledge and insights from work research and session discussion, and knowing such interesting and intriguing debate and topics.
Drawing Approach Outline The drawing approach is adapted from the precedents that composite with collage, annotation and color pattern style to narrate the transformation on site and represent the economic relative data in sections.

Collage The collage as the main narrative in the sections that represent the transformation, occupation and events changes on site over time or at certain time point.
Annotation The linear figures indicate additional information, reference resources and highlight where locations of transformation, occupation and events happened
