Lesson — Exodus 15:13-18 In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling. The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the people of Philistia. The chiefs of Edom will be terrified, the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling, the people of Canaan will melt away; terror and dread will fall on them. By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone— until your people pass by, LORD, until the people you bought pass by. You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance— the place, LORD, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, Lord, your hands established. “The LORD reigns for ever and ever.”

Choral Response Hosanna to the Son of David

Music by Thomas Weelkes, 1576-1623

Hosanna to the Son of David. Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord. Hosanna, thou that sittest in the highest heaven, Hosanna in excelsis Deo.

The Gospel — Mark 1:16-20 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

Hymn—I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light

Sermon — Isaiah 30:21 Listen Carefully to the Voice that Cares! Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

Choral Response One Faith, One Hope, One Lord Music by Craig Courtney

Text based on Ephesians 4:4-6, 13

One faith, one hope, one Lord, one church for which he died, One voice, one song we lift in praise to him who was and is and shall be evermore. There is one body, one spirit, as you were called to one hope. One Lord, one baptism and faith, one God and Father of all. Though we be many people, diverse with various gifts, We are given to each other for the unity of faith, That we grow in the knowledge of the Son of God, in the fullness of Christ.

Conferring of Degrees Please reserve applause for the Presentation of the Class.

Choral Response Nunc dimittis from Truro Canticles

Text from Book of Common Prayer, 1662 (PD) Music by Philip W.J. Stopford

Lord, lettest thou thy servant depart in peace; for mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; to be a light to lighten the Gentiles: and to be the glory of thy people Israel. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
