CBTE Course of Study

In the year-long online CBTE program, learners complete six 3-credit courses that provide a strong foundation in the guiding principles of our shared faith.

The course of study will be completed by cohorts of learners over three 15-week terms. There will be about a week between each term to allow for a short break.

Each term, learners will be enrolled in two classes.

Why Study at MLC?

Martin Luther College is dedicated to a single mission: to train men and women to meet the public ministry needs of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

Program Highlights

As a church body, we have a good challenge ahead of us. Our enrollment at WELS Lutheran elementary schools has outpaced our graduating classes at MLC. We need teachers. And you have answered the call to support our schools—as paraprofessionals, substitutes, classroom volunteers, and parents.

The CBTE program is specifically designed for returning adult learners like you. We want to support your growth and development as Christian educators in our WELS schools.
