35th Annual Production Sale
MARCH 14, 2025
12:30 P.M. CST IN PARADISE, KANSAS
The Bar S Ranch Family looks forward to seeing each of you at our 35th Annual Production Sale. Each year presents new challenges, but if we have moisture to grow grass, a good cattle market and health, we are blessed.
This year all of the bulls selling will be 18 months old to 2 years old. By doing this, we can calve later and develop the yearling bulls slower, therefore never pushing them on a high grain ration. Since we lost some lease grass, we are offering more 2 year old heifers, bred heifers and pairs. These are right out of our replacements, both Black Angus and Red Angus.
We lost a member of the family on February 6, 2025. Our son Chris passed away. Chris was born with Downs Syndrome, but was very active and worked on the ranch. Many of you remember Chris serving food on sale day. He will be missed.
Thank you for coming,

Most family ranching operations are founded on discipline and sacrifice. Hardships can often be prevalent, but the grit and determination to succeed empower a progressive agriculturalist to move forward with strength of mind. Weather challenges, natural disasters, and a competitive land acquisition market are common stressors in ranching culture. Ken Stielow embodies the ranching community of Kansas to the fullest. He is a man of vision and leadership who understands the highs and lows that come with perseverance in ranching. As many of you know, the family and their neighbors have faced considerable challenges over the past five years, but this has not altered his master plan or its direction. Experience teaches us that some elements are within our control, while others lie beyond our grasp, but faith, common sense, discipline, and sound management practices will keep the operation on the right track.
With the help of his daughter, son-in-law, and their sons, Ken has developed the Bar S Ranch program to make the most of available resources. The cattle are chosen to thrive in their native environment, with a constant emphasis on the fundamentals of maternal instinct, fertility, weaning weights, and quality in balance and structure. The genetics used over the years have focused on reducing inputs and selecting cattle that excel within the management system. At the Bar S, the females are expected to calve on grass and produce calves of desirable weight at weaning, utilizing the range efficiently to gain weight with minimal or no supplementation. Females bearing the Bar S brand are required to breed back quickly, and their udder and foot quality are never compromised. These are only a few of the criteria that keep the long-term, loyal customer base returning each year for the next generation of bull acquisitions.
The stock between the covers of this catalog represents years of selection pressure, but one should notice that there are no yearling bulls in the offering! Transitioning this offering to all age-advantaged bulls is where the outfit is headed. They want their customers to have utmost confidence in the product offered, and they know and understand the value of a more mature herd sire. The bulls are both 18 months and two years of age, with several of the two-year-old bulls having ranch breeding experience as they were held back for utilization in the program. Confidence in your purchase experience should be heightened when sifting through this outstanding set of experienced and older herd sires.
Females in this sale book represent the very best of the outfit’s Spring 2024 born heifer crop! It is highlighted by the Reserve Champion Pen of Three at the 2025 National Western Stock Show. B A R Dynamic is a new sire sampled by the program, and we know that you will agree that these females are of very high quality in terms of phenotype and own number profiles that are very impressive as well. We are confident that those who come on or before sale day or study the videos will be impressed with what you see. Of course, the female offering will include a great sort of commercial females from the Bar S Ranch pens and from customers who have done business with the firm for years. If you have been to the sale before, you know the quality to expect, and if it’s your rookie experience, you should be impressed.
Please plan to attend the annual Bar S Ranch production sale. If you should need any assistance with the offering, do not hesitate to reach out to anyone on the Bar S Ranch team or any member of the Innovation AgMarketing team. We are willing and able to ensure that your buying experience will be convenient and pleasurable.
Please enjoy the cattle, and may God bless America!
