The instructional activities in this chapter are designed to increase students’ understanding of self-regulation, including why it is important now and in the future. Instructional activities are categorized as initial instruction, guided collaborative learning, and independent practice with feedback. These instructional activities progress in complexity, leading to increased student responsibility. By the independent practice stage, students will be able to identify their individual strengths and challenges related to self-regulation.
