Earning a Brick to Add to Our School’s Foundation

As you know, our school’s motto this year is, “Let's Build a Brighter Tomorrow Together, One Brick at a Time.” Even as a student, you can help us to build that future by following through on our classroom’s promises to one another. Each time you follow through on one of those promises, you will get to fill out a construction paper brick that will be added to the display in the main hallway of our school at the end of each of our weekly challenge assemblies.

How many bricks will YOU earn this year?

There are LOTS of ways that you can earn a brick for honoring our classroom’s promises to one another. Here are a few examples.

Earning a terrific mark on a difficult assignment

Cleaning up your workspace consistently

Helping a peer understand a concept that you have already mastered Reworking a task that you struggled to complete the first time around

Asking a question in class that makes everyone think

Listening carefully during classroom conversations Lending a hand to a friend who missed class and is trying to get caught up

Using a respectful tone when speaking with students you disagree with

Showing up to class on time and ready to work

When your teacher awards you a brick, your job is to cut it out and bring it to the next challenge assembly.
