corporate strategy. His current research examines the drivers of R&D success in the pharmaceutical, chemical and optical disc industries. In particular, he focuses on firms’ patent portfolios and the evolutionary process underlying their development. Dr. Nerkar is the former associate dean of the Executive MBA Evening and Weekend Programs at UNC KenanFlagler. He worked with the Unilever Group of Companies in India before he studied at Wharton. He received his PhD in strategic management from Wharton, where he also received an MA in managerial science and applied economics. Expertise

ATUL VOHRA Atul Vohra is a purpose and customer driven leader who has built brands, businesses and teams across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. He has built start-ups and transformed mature businesses in Consumer, Financial and Technology Services across Fortune 50 companies (Unilever, American Express, Citi, Dell) and midsized Public and PE owned (Solera) companies. He is currently the Regional Managing Director for Global Customers at Solera the leading global auto and insurance risk and asset management company. Vohra's

SATYANARAYAN RAMAMURTHY Satya qualified as a Chartered Accountant with S.B.Billimoria & Co (then representative of KMG and Ernst and Whinney) in 1987, and finished his management studies at IIM, Ahmedabad in 1990. He joined as a Management Trainee in Ponds, Chennai in 1990, and worked as a Manager, Corporate Finance until the end of 1993. After a brief stint in 1994 with Alghanim Industries in Kuwait, he joined KPMG in Chennai in 1995 as a Management Consultant and moved with them to Singapore in 1996. He was invited to join the partnership in 1998, and has since worked in a wide range of leadership roles with the Singapore Firm. After setting up the public sector business during the Asian Financial Crisis from 1998 to 2003, he moved to build the Corporate Finance practice, focusing on M&A and Project Finance.

KANNAN SITARAM Kannan has enjoyed over 3 decades of excitement in India’s FMCG industry. He has worked on iconic brands like Pond’s, Vaseline, Brooke Bond, Lipton, Dabur and Real. He’s led the large sales team at the then $1 Billion Hindustan Lever soaps and detergents business. Integrating the Ponds, Tomco and Brooke Bond sales teams with Hindustan Lever are some of the interesting challenges he has dealt with. He was part of the London based global strategy team and participated in shaping Unilever’s corporate strategy. He led the transformation of Dabur’s India business and helped Dabur acquire businesses like Balsara and Fem. Now as a partner at Fireside Ventures, Kannan views the consumer industry from the perspective of start up brands. As an investor, board member and CEO mentor , he plays an active role in India’s emerging digital economy. Kannan is B.Tech from IIT, Madras and the gold medallist of his batch from IIM, Ahmedabad.

R Y NARAYANAN R Y Narayanan is a consultant and advisor based in Dubai and is currently working with entrepreneurs in the K12 education and fintech sectors on strategy, operations and financial management. He is a Chartered Accountant with 30 years' experience covering FMCG (including 6 years in Pond's India), real estate and financial services in various governance, senior management and advisory capacities. Over the last 20+ years that he has been in Dubai, RY has worked with multinational, regional and local businesses that have played a meaningful role in the Dubai growth story.
