Mrs Barker thanked Freda for her continued support of the Mount Morgan Show. Gloomy skies and the threat of rain did not deter the 1500 people from attending this year’s event. Pavillion and cattle nominations were well and truly up this year, while poultry and horse nominations were lower than in previous years. “I couldn’t be happier with the event,” Mrs Barker said. “I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the 2022 Mount Morgan Show. “We’ve had some wonderful sponsorship and some really amazing volunteers. “Without the support of the public, the event wouldn’t be successful,” she said. A full list of results will be printed in a future edition of the Mount Morgan Argus.

History is an amazing thing and this year the Q.C.W.A. state wide is now recorded in the history books becoming 100 years old. First formed at the Albert Hall in Brisbane on 11 August ,1922. Ladies from all over the state converged to hear what the meeting was about and to showcase what they needed in their home towns. As New South Wales had formed a Country Women’s Association in the July the women wanted to see if there was a need for one in Queensland. This was very evident and so the formation of our association was set into motion. The ladies were very excited and Mrs Ruth Fairfax was voted in as the associations founding state President. Who would have thought that from such a simple idea of holding a meeting that an organisation would be formed that is still as important and as respected as Q.C.W.A. is today - 100 years on?. So many celebrations showcasing our association’s history including photos, memories that have been recorded, television interviews and many newspaper reports to let people know that Q.C.W.A. has turned 100 years old and we are here to stay. This year the Q.C.W.A. State Conference will be held in Toowoomba where the first conference was held in 1923. The Mount Morgan Branch has been a part of the local community since its formation in 1950.The members have overcome many boundaries through war time and in Thepeace.ladies welcomed immigrants from overseas, helped with war time projects such as knitting for the soldiers, some ladies became members of Red Cross and the Australia Comforts Fund Qld Branch and many ladies worked on properties when their husbands went to war. They took on challenges such as making Camouflage Nets. They also held functions, cent sales, card nights, Tupperware parties, dances and raffles. The branch has also written cookbooks. We are a proud branch and as such we have been privileged to have many amazing ladies as members which have included Mount Morgan Branch Member Mrs Margaret Fitzherbert who became the Q.C.W.A. State President from MBE from 1981This1984. year is no exception we took part in May Day and on 11 August we held a display and cut a birthday cake that we shared with the community to celebrate the 100-year Birthday. We have made DV Packs (Pictured below) and toiletry packs for the hospital. We also were showcased on Win TV News and CQ Today Newspaper. Members also held a stall at the Mount Morgan Show .This showcased history and had items for sale including centenary items and cookbooks. I am very happy to say that we have welcomed several new members and we look like welcoming more in the near future.

So as you can see we are a growing branch welcoming all ladies and willing to help in our community as much as we can. Members work in many areas including the state school P&C and at the state school tuckshop and are on the high school P&C. We at Kindy Care have been learning... We have been learning about space so we made rockets out of the letters of our names. The children had to pick out the letters of their names to create their rockets. We had a rocket puzzle with numbers from 1 to 10, the children had to copy the picture of the rocket to complete the activity, they all enjoyed the challenge.

KINDY HAPPENINGS

We have been learning about germs and did an experiment with pepper in a cup of water. The children put dish washing liquid on their finger and dipped it into the water and pepper. They realised the pepper moved away from their finger so that is why they need to use soap all over their hands to keep the germs away... Like the pepper. Fun was had by all.

By Larry at Fox Video Movie Review

Great science fiction is rare, but Ridley Scott (ALIEN, BLADE RUNNER, LEGEND, GLADIATOR, HANNIBAL, BLACKHAWK DOWN, KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, THE MARTIAN and many others too numerous to mention) recognizes it immediately. His production company, Scott Free productions was in talks with author Aaron Guzikowski after reading his pilot script for RAISED BY WOLVES. Things were progressing nicely but Aaron had no idea who they would appoint as director. The last person he thought he had a right to expect was the great Ridley Scott himself. As it turns out, Ridley had already heard of it, sought out a copy of the script, and before anything had been decided or signed off on, he had, with his own hand (Ridley loves to draw), storyboarded the entire show from start to finish. Ridley Scott recognized the greatness, loved the story and was determined to be its director. The great religious war had finally come to Earth, but not as one would suspect, with religion against religion. No, this cataclysmic battle was between a devout sun-god worshipping group, the Mithraics, and the Atheists. The wars escalated, the destruction spread like an infection across the planet, and when The Mithraic developed and deployed a new android superweapon with dreadful power called The Necromancer, humanity was on the brink of Unbeknownstextinction.to, and independently of each other, both sides decide that in order to save mankind and ensure its future their only chance was to colonize a distant, mysterious planet named Kepler-226. The Mithraic set out across the galaxy in a spaceship dubbed The Ark of Heaven with one thousand of their chosen faithful and soldiers in suspended animation onboard for the twelveyear duration of their journey. The Atheists on the other hand chose to place the future protection, nurturing and regrowth of humanity into the hands of just two especially reprogrammed androids named Mother and Father, and a mere six carefully selected human embryos. This meant that they were in a much smaller, faster ship with a journeytime shortened by many years. Kepler-226 turns out to be a harsh planet with many hazards of its own, and Mother and Father have no idea that the Mithraic are headed their way in large numbers, nor that they will arrive in just a few years. However, when The Ark does arrive Mother will do anything to protect her children, even if it means destroying many of the few remaining people in existence and jeopardizing humanity’s last chance of survival. Will the violence of Earth break out on StarringKepler-226?our very own Travis Fimmel (Ragnar Ragnarsson), RAISED BY WOLVES is too big a story to be told in just an hour and a half. It is definitely a fat book to get lost and live in, not a skinny quick-visit. The rating is MA15+ for “strong science fiction themes, violence and sex scenes.”

THE ORANGE DOT RAISED BY WOLVES

RAISED BY WOLVES... Loved it!

If doctors aren’t allowed to discuss alternatives to standardised medical options with their patients, then the legal requirements for informed consent can’t be satisfied and the standard of patient-care will suffer.

Does your dog eat POOP?

The Bill grants APHRA new and unprecedented powers for coercively silencing doctors who stray from the officially mandated ‘narrative’ and preventing vital information ever reaching the ears of the public.

Below: Stephen Andrew at the Mount Morgan Show Cooking up a storm for the volunteers.

- Restrict access, cleaning up as soon as your dog and other pets in your household have done their -business.Providing a variety of toys to decrease boredom.

New legislation introduced in Queensland, the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2022, will greatly enhance the government regulator’s powers for censoring doctors in Queensland.

No one likes to admit that their dog eats their own poop. But it is more common than you think. The technical term for this is Copraphagia.

The new bill will overturn centuries of medical practice by replacing the principle that a doctor’s loyalty must, first and foremost, be to the well-being of their patient, and replacing it with a new guiding principle – upholding and safeguarding ‘public trust’ and ‘confidence’ in public health authorities. The Explanatory Notes say the regulatory body will be free to take action against a doctor or health practitioner in any way they deem “necessary or convenient” to ‘safeguard’ public confidence and safety. APHRA will also be able to publicly ‘name and shame’ doctors before they have been found guilty of anything. This robs doctors of their right to the ‘presumption of innocence’, ‘natural justice’ and ‘due process’. It also takes away their right to practice their profession without political harassment or interference. Doctors should be free to engage in clinical debate on clinical issues to do with the effectiveness of treatment options and must be free to advise their patients honestly on any matter raised during a doctor-patient consultation.

Even though it makes our stomachs turn, eating their own poop poses little threat to your dog’s health. However, eating another pet’s poop may if it contains parasites or toxins. How can you stop your dog from eating poop?

With Stephen Andrew, MP THE END OF MEDICAL FREE SPEECH IN QUEENSLAND

Dr Jamie and Nurse Darcie will be visiting Mount Morgan on Tuesday, 6 September 2022, 10:00am –1:00pm, 2:00pm – 5:00pm.

Page 1317 -31 August 2022 MOUNT MORGAN ARGUS MIRANI MESSAGE

If we aren’t careful, health protocols in Queensland will no longer be adopted based on experience and evidence-based medicine, but on the diktats of public health officials and regulators who have never treated a single patient in their lives. By delegating such unlimited powers to AHPRA, the Government has virtually handed them a blank cheque to do whatever they like. The Bill contains no clear avenues for appeal or redress for doctors unfairly targeted by AHPRA, even if subsequently cleared of wrongdoing. It is important to note that AHPRA is an unelected, executive agency that answers to no-one. This means that nothing they say or do is subject to questioning, verification or independent review by any jurisdiction. APHRA must not be given the last word on what ‘truth’ in medicine is. There must always be room for ‘dissenting’ views and debate. Without that, we are no longer a democracy. This impact of regional areas will be felt the most. We cannot afford to gag doctors or the health system when we are wanting the best possible outcomes for all the people.

Dr Jamie was booked out last visit, so please call ear ly to avoid disappointment. Appointments are essential, please call 4922 8138.
