The perception of space is enhanced by the incorporation of sensorial activities. The design brings together the public realm, funtions, and the natural setting allowing user to become a part of the path along the variuos activities. The main artery of the project is the park, and it serves as an extension of interior uses. The project embraces the spatial qualities and connectivity between the use and the user. 3

The concept
The program takes pedestrian in a promanade of activities and uses the park as the path way and is also the main organizing element connecting the east-west and north south axis. The volume of the tower is pushed back to givet the project a sense of human scale.

Autodesk Revit 2014 Adobe Photoshop CS6 Adobe Illustrator CS6 The central beach activity area has a high variety of building typologies and uses that enable a cluster organization between the different activities that occur along the site. It has access to two bodies of water that allow the permeability along the perimeter of the site. During the analysis potential areas of interest stand out due to the high connecting capability and relationship to the public realm. During the development of the Master plan some of these characteristics were taken into consideration. As an example, the morphology of the building along the A1A area which enhance a sense of scale, and connects to the pedestrians at the ground level with public activities. POSITIVES Permeable Variety of scales Wide Range of Activities NEGATIVE Lack of Connection Parking Area occupies spaces that can be repurpose for other uses. Buildings (high Rise) do not engage pedestrians at the ground level. Lack of open public areas Activities are isolated

Revitalizing the area with a central park that encompasses the public activity along the area. The typology of the architecture follows the existing characterand enhances the authenticity of the area. Incorporation of on street parking allowing easy vehicular access to the adjacent activity. Pedestrian connection from east to west . Almond Ave is close only for pedestrian activity. Development of public areas that serve the community, and tourists with various entertainment possibilities. The intersection of A1A and Las Olas Blvd brings is activated by the incorporation of apublic plaza that engages the pedestrian gathering and activity along the adjacent area. A parking garage accommodates vehicular density along the site, and allows the utilization of space to be repurpose for public use. Sloping green area allow for the roof to be a walkable area and serves as an amphitheater, and connects to the central park along the shopping areas. The visual alignment of Las Olas Blvd gives a sense of continuation of the road towards the beach. Propose Parking garage Integrated the ground level with retail use. An information center and a cafe activates the public plaza. It’s roof structure extrudes out to the plaza to provide shade and comfort. Height: 45ft Front setback: 25ft Propose Pier Connect the west and east in a linear path. Enhances water sport with a rental station at the end of the pier. The pier divides the beach and and creates a clear distinction between the different activitties acuring along the adjacent areas.

The Project
The Center of the Arts Hotel encompasses the public realm with the contuniation of the park thruough out the building. The promenade along the park starts at the public plaza and then start sloping towars an entretaintment area where pedestrians will find and art gallery, restaurants, and the hotel lobby. The project serves as a display of publuc activitites. At each moment pedestrian are observers or are part of the show. The main structure is pushed back from the edge to give a sense of human scale and invite the public tp discover the activitites along hte elevated park.

The Project
In the development of the project the connection to the park in terms of circulation, and the existing water pump stablished the concept of connectivity, and the use of the water pump to educate, and celebrate the use of it with an integrated facade system. The facade has 3 layers that filter the odor and wind tubes that catch the iprevailing winds bringing fresh air into the interior of the pump allowing for the circulation of air, The Lab has 2 access points. One coming from the park serving as a continuation of the public space with a plaza serving as an extension of the uses. The second entrance is along Byscayne Blvd welcoming pedestrians to enter the cantiliver structure into the maiin plaza area. The lab exposes the activities along the pedestrian areas allowing the public to be participant of the wind tunnel area, the water pump, the library, and the aiviary.

The Experience The Project
Worms Eye View
The museum celebrates the experience of the city from walker to espectaur. The project uses perspective to alter the perception of space through a path with unique experiences. The one point path, the worms eye view, the wind tunnel experience, the bridge experience, and the aerial view of the city of Chicago with a physical model allows visitors to enter into a new realm exploring with the senses the multiple layers of the city. The Museum has three layer. The underground which the absence of light is use to acentuate feeling of being at street level. The second layer focuses in the experince of being in one of the skyscrappers and the third focuses in the aerial view and understanding the city as a whole.

Model Making Drawing Technique
Community Center, Cuzco Peru Florida Atlantic University Fall 2011 Prof. Burghart
Community Center
The composition was developed from the implementation of appropriate ideas through the process of transforming metaphorical interpretations, and through architectonic principles into forms that provide viable spaces. The design is a home for 15 unwed teenage single mothers in Cuzco, Peru. The terrain slopes from 30 percent and it has native vegetation. The composition has 15 rooms, one for each mother, and common areas as the kitchen, dining room, living room, recreation area, nursery, small library and utility areas such as laundry and storage. The design is organized in a radial organization utilizing the hierarchy as the organizing element. This space is designated for the living room and 2 small lobbies, because it’s where the gathering will take place, and It’s the unifying element for the design as well as the unifying space for each of the families. The home is going with the slope providing the access of light and the view to the plaza with the cathedral on the south east. There are two axis colliding together at the organizing element. The two axis provide the zoning for the areas. The most private areas are in the 3rd and 4th level to the east side where the rooms are located and the public and semi-public to the west side including the entire second level.

The emphasis of the project was to identify critical contextual forces and repetitious patterns to create a composition. The function of the composition is an art center that accommodates 20 working artists and provides education, and it also has a gallery, a bookstore and a cafe. The composition is a linear organization located in the south east of the site because is the quiets quadrant, and less trafficked area in the site. The organization was derived from the connection between the river and the art museum. Therefore the composition is perpendicular to the river. The Datum and the idea of continuity was obtained from the river. The architectonic principles that were used in this project were derived form the surrounding context. As an example, the repetition was derived from the river house. The composition has three levels. The first level is underground with access to light through the ceiling, and it’s the most private area dedicated to artist studios. the second and third level are dedicated for classroom areas and gathering spaces
South Elevation South Elevation Understanding the surrounding context of the site where the composition is located implicates the analysis of adjacent buildings as well the nature around it. The project was emphasized in the river house because it is the closest building it the composition. Therefore, the proportions on the south-east corner of the composition were extruded from this building. At the same time the architectonic principle of repetition is included. The datum, the linear organization and the continuity was derived from the river. The composition provides a sense of linearity unifying the river and the museum. The proportion was implemented to create balance in the design.
