Easter is celebrated in March but, depending on the year, it is celebrated in April. In Mallorca, some special desserts and food, like “panades” and “robiols”, are made in every home. Both of them are a type of pie. Panada: a typical salty pie made of flour, eggs, butter, olive oil and water, for the paste. For the filler, we put any type of meat or mix it to our liking. We can put peas or “sobrassada” (typical meat sausage) too. We put them in the oven for about 45 minutes at 180ºC. Panades are round, with curls on the top, to close the pie edge and the top. Panades can be eaten cold or hot. The process to make them 's quite long, but the results are only amazing. Robiol: a typical sweety dessert pie made of flour, eggs, sugar, butter, and orange juice, for the paste. To fill them, we put jam, quince, curd or chocolate. We put them in the oven for about 15 minutes at 200ºC. They are half-moon shaped. They are usually eaten cold and we can add sugar glass on them. Cocarroi: a typical vegetables pie. The paste is made of water, flour and olive oil. It is usually filled with onion, chard, cauliflower, spinach, garlic and raisins. We can put salt, olive oil, pepper and paprika. It is half-moon shaped. We put them in the oven for about 30 minutes at 200ºC. They are generally eaten cold.
