February 1999 Newsletter

Upcoming Meeting Highlights

The third purpose is to promote the "study and conservation of reptiles and amphibians."

March Program:

This month's meeting will focus on the third purpose by having some grant re<:ipients explain what has been accomplished with the funds received in 1998 from the proceeds of the Upper Midwest in 1997. These proceeds were contributed for study and conservation, and the re<:ipients have on-going plans for the future. This will be a great talk to hear what has happened and also what will happen in the field of herpetology. BAB

Where does all that money go? Speakers:

1998 Grant Recipients

I want to thank everyone in the society for an exciting two years as my tenure for the position of VicePresident ends with the upcoming ele<:tions. It has been a great learning experience for me. I have met and talked with some very interesting people in the field of herpetology. Everyone in the society has been very helpful with ideas on topics and speaker ideas for the general meetings, and for that I want to give a big TIIANKSlH The Minnesota Herpetological Society was organized for three major purposes. The first centers on education of the membership and the public on the "care and captive propagation of reptiles and amphibians." The se<:ond is to educate the members and general public in the "ecological role of reptiles and amphibians."

Date: March 5, 1999 Location: Borlaug Hall, Room 335, U of M. St. Paul Campus 7:00pm

This survey is to help the new Board by letting them know what is important to the membership.

Speaking about the Board-The Ele<:tions for the Board of Dire<:tors will also take place during the Annual Meeting. We will be taking nominations from the floor before the voting. Show up in March and use the power of your membership to its fullest.
