WE ARE INNOVATORS ACADEMIC LIFE IS MORE THAN LISTENING TO LECTURES. Professors engage their students in the academic experience with innovative and hands-on learning methods. From board games to roleplaying to service learning, MNU professors offer something for every learning style. And being so close to Kansas City means MNU students have ample opportunities to put their learning into practice through internships and practicums. Here, learning is an immersive experience. The state-of-the-art nursing lab at MidAmerica was one of the
many reasons that I chose MNU. On my first day of clinical I was so surprised at how familiar I was with the hospital setting because it was almost identical to our nursing lab! The hands-on approach that my professors used in our labs set me up for success in the hospital setting. I am forever thankful for the way that the nursing program at MidAmerica prepared me for my nursing career!”
TAYLOR BROWNE / Leawood, KS / Nursing
Service Learning that Makes a Difference Service runs deep in our culture. Classes at MNU organize 5K races and blood drives, and “adopt non-profit organizations and small churches to help them solve real-world problems. Students have also helped run ministry camps funded by a $600,000 grant from the Lilly Foundation.

WE ARE BELI EVERS. CHRISTIAN FAITH IS AT THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING WE DO AT MNU, both inside the classroom and out. That doesn’t mean every student at MNU is a Christian, but it does mean that every truth presented in every classroom is measured against the truth of Christianity, that every campus policy is measured against the standards of Christianity, that every interaction is measured against the model of Christian love. Weekly chapel, on-campus Bible studies, mission trips and regular opportunities for community service all shape the rhythms of campus life, but the influence of faith goes even deeper. THIS IS MNU.
Two of MNU’s unique traditions are the Sowing Prayer and the Harvest Prayer. During orientation,

One of the greatest things that MNU has to offer
students is a community to thrive in spirituality. MNU challenged me to go outside of my comfort zone, and find God in the unexpected places and at unexpected times.”

One of my favorite things about
MNU is the community. I love that when I walk into class my professor calls me by name and asks about my family or my recent vacation. I know that I could approach any of my professors with any issue and they wouldn’t hesitate to help in any way they could-that is something you won’t find anywhere else. At MNU you are not another number or a face in the crowd, you are part of the family.”

WE ARE FRIENDS. PEOPLE KNOW EACH OTHER AT MNU. When you succeed, people know and celebrate with you. When you struggle, people know and extend a helping hand. When you miss class, your professors know that too and will offer support when you need it!
Here you’ll find friendship is central to success and community is the scaffolding around which an MNU graduate is built. Our students form bonds in and out of the classroom, through intramurals, worshipping together in chapel, residence life and favorite campus traditions. Everything at MNU is geared toward community and relational engagement. THIS IS MNU.
WE ARE COMPETITORS “FEAR THE ‘NEER!” PIONEER ATHLETICS ARE A VITAL PART OF MNU’S CAMPUS LIFE. With six men’s teams and seven women’s teams, varsity athletes make up almost a quarter of MNU’s student body. MNU students rally around their teams, and the discipline and teamwork of our athletes strengthens MNU’s culture of excellence in every area of life.

WE ARE INTENTIONAL. AT MNU, OUR MISSION IS TRANSFORMATION. Students are transformed intellectually, developing habits of thought that bring Christian truth to bear on every area of life. They are transformed spiritually, finding deeper faith and greater connection with the world through service. Most importantly, all this personal transformation equips MNU graduates to transform the culture where they live.
PRIVATE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION IS A GREAT INVESTMENT—in your professional life, yes, but also in the rest of your life. And it’s not as expensive as you might think. MNU’s financial aid office helps you find the money you need to make MNU a reality. More than 98% of MNU students receive financial aid in the form of grants, scholarships, loans or work study. Some awards are made on the basis of financial need, others for academic merit or performance, and some for a combination of the two. THIS IS MNU.
