OFFICE OF SPARTAN VILLAGE ROW 503, ROOM 302 – 314.392.2251 | spirituallife@mobap.edu Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. On the Web mobap.edu/spirituallife Facebook: MBU Office of Spiritual Life Instagram: mbuosl

Our Mission To introduce and encourage students, faculty, and staff to personally and passionately follow Jesus for a lifetime. To create an environment of mutual equipping, encouragement, and accountability to obediently follow Jesus and God’s Word. To encourage people to join, serve, and grow in a local church. Why is the Office of Spiritual Life important? Knowing God personally is the most important thing in life. We desire to help point students, faculty, and staff to God. We are not replacing the local church, but partnering with them. We want to help you answer the two main questions in life: Who am I? What is my purpose? You were made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) and made to know him personally, follow him, and worship him. Without this, you will never be satisfied in this life. What are some main things we do? If you are interested, we will: -Equip you to personally and passionately follow Jesus. -We will teach you how to share your faith with others and help you get plugged into a local church. -We host missional communities and discipleship groups on campus to help you grow in your faith. -We lead mission trips locally, nationally, and internationally. What does Chapel look like? We believe in following Jesus so much at MBU that we integrate it into our overall mission and structure. We have Chapel every Thursday at 11am-12pm during the semester. All students are expected to attend. We offer a semester boost to your GPA if you participate with Chapels and the Community Life Program. If you do not, there will be a negative impact to your GPA. See the CLP for more details. What advice does the Office of Spiritual Life have for new students? Be open to wrestling with tough questions, ideas, and figuring out what you truly believe about life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” Matthew 16:24-26
