09/2015 - 06/2019 Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan, China Hello, I am Tonia. My main research direction is interaction, product and service design. At the undergraduate stage, I focus on the design of small household products; at the master stage I am committed to human-oriented design, focusing on the overall design process and methodology, especially the research on user experience. I have a keen insight into life and I am also an empathetic person. I think design is not just about designing the product itself, but also about studying user behavior. A small change is enough to affect the user's daily habits. Therefore, we need to deliberate on the details to develop a reasonable and positive solution. In the future, I hope to become an interaction designer who contributes to a certain social scene and give users a better product experience.

01 ʻGREEN ACTIONʼ - CLIMATE CHANGE APP Interaction Design

Introduction Users can learn about the specific environmental protection actions that can be taken in the app, and earn points by completing the actions in the way of ‘Punch Card’, and develop environmental protection habits in an incentive way.

Aim The purpose is to encourage people to take effective actions to deal with the global problem of climate change.

Global climate change is a statistically significant change in the average state of the climate on a global scale or a change in climate over a long period of time. It can be caused by natural internal processes, or by external forcings, or by man-made changes in the composition of the atmosphere and land use.

INTERVIEW & PERSONA 1

“I have downloaded some similar 'Lifestyle' apps before, but it is often uninstalled after a while. Because their functions are too complicated and there is no user mechanism that particularly attracts me to continue to Brian use them. You know, I am very busy 32 with my work, so I only have some Software engineer fragmented time to use these apps.”

“To be honest, as a young person in this new era, I am very concerned about the issue of climate change, and I also hope to take some actions to improve it, but I do not know what specific actions to take and how many specific contributions I can make. Moreover, I often can not supervise myself to do these things.”

“I hope the content of this app can be visualized, especially some data, which will give people a sense of urgency. Perhaps it is also possible to tell people about the bad consequences of bad behavior on the environment, so as to motivate people to take some good actions.”

Findings • The 'Summary' score and the number of actions in the 'Action' module are not very clear and should be highlighted In this way, the rationality, fluency and aesthetics of various elements in the interface are tested, including the interaction between each detail, visual readability, etc. The high-fidelity test is a holistic test.

• The background color of ‘CO2’ in ‘Summary’ in the ‘Action’ module is too light, the color should be weakened • If the user clicks on someone ’s profile photo in the ‘Ranking List’, users can see that their contribution will be better

• I know a little bit about AR technology. I have experienced VR glasses and visited immersive exhibitions.

• I haven't experienced the AR exhibition, but if it were, it would be interesting and our students would love it.

• It is helpful to scan the code to learn some information about the work, such as the creation process and history.

• Maybe add some interactive mini-games with AR.

• It may be more convenient and attractive to add some audio explanation and video introduction.

• May be able to add intelligent voice explanation capabilities. • If this App can improve the exhibition experience, I would like to download and use it.

Summary • Human-computer interaction and immersive exhibition methods can actually improve the viewing experience. • Users wish to present more information about the work, such as the creation process, historical stories, other works of the artist, etc. through scanning. • Usera hope there will be some video and intelligent audio playback so as to increase the interest of watching. • Some interactive games related to exhibitions can be appropriately added to attract more users' participation. 12

03 SELF-SERVICE BAG DROP AT THE TRAIN STATION Service Design

Interaction Design

Product Design

Introduction A series of luggage help services are provided to train travel users, including the design of hardware and software, the hardware is the self-service baggage check-in machine, and the software is the ‘Close Baggage’ App.

Aim To reduce the pressure on users to travel on trains, especially during heavy holidays.

Individual Project 2018.12- 2019.6 | Undergraduate

RESEARCH Interview

Background At present, the self-service baggage check-in system at domestic and foreign airports has been gradually improved, but the existing train station self-service check-in system has many problems and deficiencies.

“ I often travel between cities and even different countries. I not only have to carry heavy luggage, but also bring my photography equipment. ”

In China, trains are long-distance transportation. Most people take trains to go to work, go to school, or travel, so they often carry a lot of luggage, especially when people go hometown on vacation.

Pain point Ben 35 Photographer

“ I often take trains to go to other cities for photography. Every time the luggage pressure is quite large, especially during holidays. You know, the passenger flow in the train station is huge during holidays, my luggage is a heavy burden on me, and I am also afraid that the photography equipment will be damaged. If there is a safe luggage check-in system at the train station, it will reduce a lot of pressure on me. ”

Every holiday, the flow of people is huge, and the luggage that people carry is also quite heavy

Large luggage area is larger than the luggage rack, easy to cause safety problems

When you travel alone, the luggage is difficult to take care of

“ My university is in another city, and I have to carry a lot of luggage whenever a new term begins and ends. ”

Jelly 19 Undergraduate

The existing railway station consignment system is very imperfect

The existing baggage coach is always full of luggage, difficult to distinguish, easy to damage

Luggage pressure is too high, it is very inconvenient to move

“ I am a northerner, but my university is in the south. Every time I go on vacation, I have to bring a lot of things back to my hometown, including computers, cameras, various clothes, etc. Basically, every time I go home alone, and I am very thin, and my strength is quite small, so every time I am afraid of the round trip process, it puts a lot of pressure on me. If there is such a convenient self-service luggage check-in system, I might be willing to try it, but it must be safe and efficient. ” 24

06 - 1 GARBAGE CLASSIFICATION GAME APP Interaction Design

Introduction An app design for a ‘Garbage Sorting’ game, the classification criteria refer to Shanghai’s garbage classification standards.

Aim The purpose is to raise the awareness of Chinese citizens about garbage sorting and make it easier for people to query the criteria for garbage sorting.

Individual Project 2019.10- 2019.12 | Postgraduate

DESIGN PROCESS Background Many countries in the world attach great importance to garbage classification, and have quite clear classification system and mechanism. However, in China, although the concept of garbage classification was put forward very early, it was not enforced compulsorily, which resulted in severe environmental pollution. At last on July 1, 2019, Shanghai, China, started the ‘Compulsory Trash Sorting’ for the first time. And in the near future, garbage classification will be enforced in more Chinese cities.

Pain Point • Soup is a kind of traditional chinese food. Many old people are used to soup in traditional pots such as pressure cookers and casseroles (which take several hours), and they often forget the time of soup.

• Old people often forget the days on which the children may come back for meals and other the sort of trivial things. They are not accustomed to using mobile phones to record, and many elderly people are not used to typing.
