THE BIG QUESTION We reveal the personality behind the industry
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHOP?
James Lakeland on Marylebone’s New Cavendish Street. Stepping through the door I feel I've arrived in a smart store in Milan with its stylish interior and simple presentation. — I’m not a very good shopper, so any shop where I see what I want to purchase immediately and where the staff are courteous. And, of course, any shops that buy from Hengst Footwear.
Established in 1952, family-owned business Crichton Shoes is currently in its third generation, under the ownership of Gordon Brain. Based in Hamilton, Scotland, the store retails a selection of labels including Van Dal, Gabor, Rieker, Fitflop, Geox, Ara, Barker and Padders.
— Vivobarefoot’s standalone store on Neal Street, West London, is obviously a favourite. Besides that, Selfridges at the Bullring in Birmingham is always a fun retail experience for shopping and browsing.
OPEN FOR BUSINESS
