What are you looking forward to most this summer?

Traveling! Not traveling these past two years has put a dent in my bucket list of countries. I’m working to make up for it and am doing pretty well since taking trips to Grenada, Columbia, and Antigua just this month.

What are your favorite summer trends?

Oh my god, how I wish these hips could actually fit into a micro skirt! I love the way they look online, but if I take one step it’s over… trust me I’ve tried! For now, I’ll stick to waist chains and beads that I make for my online store MIANIK. There are three different styles (pearl, crystal, and gold shells), and I’m constantly inspired to create more.

What or who inspires you and why?

My mother and older sisters have always inspired me because they work so hard to create the life they want. Although it can be challenging, they show up every day and go above and beyond to get closer to their goals.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

When a free moment decides to reveal itself, I enjoy spending it roller skating at Venice beach with friends, taking a dance class, and getting back into the studio to my first love, R&B.

What is your go-to summer beauty routine?

After applying SPF 30 from Image Skincare, I use a light sheer foundation, a bit of concealer, powder where needed, and mascara. I love to add a setting spray even over my lightest application to give highlight to my summer glow.

What's your secret to creating fun content?

If you’re having fun, people will have fun watching you! I lean into my strengths which are generally things I enjoy doing. Whether it be dancing, skating, getting all dressed up, my best content comes from simply being myself. I know, crazy right?!

What advice would you give to someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

I would tell them to do research to thoroughly understand what they’re getting into, while also remembering that the best teacher is experience, and if they have an inkling to do something, just take the first step, and then the next. It’s up to only you to create the life you want in whatever career you choose. Remember to be authentic and treat everyone how you would like to be treated.

What are your favorite stores to shop for your summer style and beauty?

I literally wear MIANIK every day because if I’m not going hard for my brand, who else will. I can’t pass up a moment of a stranger complimenting my outfit and letting them know it’s by me. For all my beauty needs, I can spend hours in Sephora looking through lipstick shades and metallic eyeshadow palette.

What was your favorite part of traveling to Grenada with Modeliste?

Grenada was INCREDIBLE! There were so many things I loved about the country, but I think my favorite part was being in a beautiful place with beautiful women creating art.

What's one fact people would be surprised to know about you?

That I’m very emotional. Yes, you guessed it, I’m a Pisces through and through.

Are you working on any projects you can share with our Modeliste readers?

I am currently working on my EP and am beyond excited about this project because it’s so near and dear to me. I have loved music since I can remember and spent a few years in a girl group, but this is my first time as a solo artist so I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on. You heard it here first!

What are three items in your closet you cannot live without?

High waisted baggy pants are the most worn item by far! A white crop top and gold hoops are the first things that pop in my mind when getting dressed.

Two things you cannot travel without?

As mentioned above, my silk heated eye mask needs to be in everyone’s travel bag and on their nightstand, it’s truly a game changer. I also love my neck pillow. I have found new creative ways to wear it when tossing and turning around my seat.

What has been a highlight of 2022 so far?

I am finally an Aunty! My eldest sister had a little boy, and he is so precious. I love seeing how quickly he’s learning every day and he’s growing so fast. I can’t wait to kiss his big cheeks again.

What would you like to say to your fans?

Thank you for being on this journey with me. I appreciate all your support, encouragement, and love. There is so much more in store, and I am happy you’ll be here to experience it with me.

What are you looking forward to most this summer?

This summer I am really looking forward to traveling to see friends in London, spending time at Central Park, & exploring New York with my new puppy "Bunz". Also possibly getting to visit Italy in the Fall.

What are your favorite summer trends?

My favorite summer trends are anything that reminds me of vintage days in Brazil. I don't really go off of trends, I just love timeless vintage 80's pieces and inspo from the 80's and 90's.

What is a typical work day like for you?

A typical work day is unconventional for me, anything from preparing photos for a brand to post, or rehearsing lines to prepare for an audition, taking an online Spanish language or acting class or writing down new ideas for upcoming projects I'd like to do.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy listening to music, going on walks with my puppy, watching new shows and movies, grabbing drinks and dinner with friends. into the studio to my first love, R&B.

What is your go-to summer beauty routine?

My go-to summer beauty routine is very minimal makeup and using really good skincare on both my nightly and morning routines so my skin is ready for the day.

What's your secret to creating fun content?

Creating content has never been super quick and easy for me, because my inspiration for content is always changing, I don't like to follow the crowd, I want to be set apart and unique with my ideas.

What advice would you give to someone who aspires to have a career like your own?

The past 11 years haven't been easy by any means. It's been a whirlwind of changes and I have had to adapt quickly at times. My advice to anyone aspiring to have the same type of career path is to be adaptable to changes and challenges, whatever they may be. There will be times when you have nothing to work on, but in those moments remember to continue working on your craft so you are prepared for new opportunities that come your way and, believe me, they come when you least expect it!

What are your favorite stores to shop for your summer style and beauty?

My favorite stores for new fashion are always thrifting and vintage stores to find unique items that no one else has. I am a firm believer in recycling clothing! I also love the brands SSENSE, Skims for basics, Reformation and Reformation Vintage. Then for beauty items I love, Pixi Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury, and Dior concealer is my "Must Have!! des and metallic eyeshadow palette.

What was your favorite part of traveling to Grenada with Modeliste?

My favorite part of Grenada was the Craback from BB's Crab Shack - the food! Also the Locals are the warmest people with such a vibrant culture! Our producer was incredible with Modeliste, she helped all of us girls to have a great experience! I always look forward to and LOVE my trips with Modeliste!

What's one fact people would be surprised to know about you?

The surprising fact about myself is, I have a vast knowledge about film and music! I love both so much.

What are three items in your closet you cannot live without?

3 items in my closet that I can't live without are: 1) a white wife beater tank 2) great fitting pair of vintage jeans and 3) an amazing vintage classic heel - my current favorite is my black Miu Miu heel!

Two things you cannot travel without?

I can't travel without my skincare products and my iPhone & AirPods.

What has been a highlight of 2022 so far?

A huge highlight of 2022 so far is that I am finally settling into an apartment in New York, it's been a lifetime dream.

What would you like to say to your fans?

I love my Fans, they have been so dedicated to me for so many years! They really keep me going with their kind words of encouragement. I hope that I can always do the same for them!
