“I first crimped the ponytail using mini-crepe before I built up the base shape. Then, using Japanese hair padding, I constructed the volume before dressing the real hair over the top to create the final shape.”
“I like the idea of contrast - playing with volumes and textures to create simple statements about shape and balance.”
The pink colour was finally added using hair weft, secured at the base of the shape.

My fingertips go numb they remember something that does not remain, pristine silence is shown in apogee, the imperfection is felt in an ephemeral range of forgiveness, a holocaust like a sunset delivered to you and still you prefer to close your eyes. I weigh the unshakable value of my feelings, Well, I sense that you feel indebted to me, a sacrifice in the middle of a nothingness that remains totally empty, a discount of emotions that you bring to me making me feel somehow free. You submit without mercy, and a plea implores in low voices that you calm the ego that lives in your heart, disagreements beg for forgiveness. Crystals on the ground creak to the pair of a tear that wants to break into a thousand pieces, radiate the superfluous heat that disunites at this moment, Even so, an ineffable feeling without any meaning is born in me, immeasurable misunderstood love, thrown into an endless blind pit, no recoil to either of your hands. And there, in the coldest darkness, I will have a faith rooted in hope, and there I will continue creating magic, infinite luminescence in case you arrive on time. While the petrichor of the rain will give you the signs of where I reside. By: Dario Bonazza About me I am a professional photographer and journalist based in Ravenna, Italy. Articles and images by me are published regularly in photo magazines such as Progresso Fotografico (second oldest photo magazine in the world, established 1894) and Tutti Fotografi, as well as other publications dedicated to contemporary dance. I also do field testing of cameras and lenses for the photo magazines I contribute to, while other paid photo work comes from stage photography (dance, music, theater). Then I run personal photo projects. Quite often, they revolve around the dualism of the feminine: angel and demon, beauty and narcissism, altruism and cruelty, love and deception, regeneration and destruction, healing and madness, birth and death. Of course, there is more than that in my photography My pictures have been exhibited in galleries, at photo shows in Milan and Rome and in unorthodox places such as a vintage train. This special session came from an old idea by me, kept on hold until the right subject could feel it. That happened when Evelyn Poggiali, a dear friend of mine and also a photographer, came asking me to create something together. She needed something helping to express herself deeply, in order to overcome the moment of crisis and disorientation produced by drastic changes in relationships and in life. In this project, Evelyn was a model and I was a photographer, but every aspect was agreed together.
About this project Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese technique that uses gold to repair shattered ceramic tableware. Giving evidence to repairs, rather than concealing them or throwing away the broken object, makes the piece unique and underlines its value. This idea can also be applied to humans, and the resulting message is powerful: don't hide your wounds, but carry them with dignity and pride, as they say who you are today better and more honestly than any storytelling.
