Cover Girl Jázmin Viktória Elizabeth (Hungary)
Can you tell us a little about you? Hii, I’m Jázmin Viktória, 22 years old, born in Győr, Hungary. I’ve spent most of my life in Germany and Slovakia but am living in Hungary at the moment. In 2021, I won Miss Universe Hungary and am reigning until this day.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? The only thing I want to try to change and evolve in is being a kinder, better person day by day. I wouldn’t change anything about my looks permanently, meaning, I’m not thinking of undergoing in any type of plastic surgery, nor had I done anything to my face and body. I believe that with the right diet, exercise plan and of course taking care of your mind and soul, you can achieve anything you want to and how you want to look. But I also think that looks are not everything and you got to train your mind as much as you train your body. Facts are you can photoshop a picture of you, but you cannot photoshop your personality.
How did you start modelling? Everything started back in 2017, when I turned 16 and my Mother surprised me with a photoshooting as one of my presents for my birthday. Back at that time my self-confidence was equal to zero, I didn’t see myself as a beautiful woman, I did not believe in myself. I was bullied most of my lifetime in school and as a result it pretty damaged the way I was thinking of myself back then. But after the shooting, I simply couldn’t believe my eyes, when I saw the photos. I saw somebody strong and pretty and that’s when I first started thinking of doing modelling. One year went by, I was looking for an agency, soon I got my first contract, after that a second and third one….
What do you think of the work as a model? Being a model is hard, I’m not going to lie, but at the same time I wouldn’t change it for anything else. Most of the people don’t see modelling as a hard job and after being 4 years in this industry there’s one comment I got plenty of times throughout these years, which is “ Modeling is not a hard job.”. If it would be easy, everybody would do it. What they don’t see is all of the rejections, negative comments and talks sometimes abuse we get in the industry, last but not least all of our wrecked feet and skin after a fashion week walking 5-7 shows a day
What is your beauty regimen? I have a routine and habits which keep me up to date all year long and I think that this is key to live that type of lifestyle I am living. Since I never know when and how many photoshoots or shows I’m doing, I always have to be on top, or at least close to it. So most of my routine consists out of workouts, stretching, skincare, reading books, eating clean food, praying and manifesting. Relaxing and taking a break takes also a very important place in my life . You have to keep the balance between working and relaxing, but the most important thing is to keep moving forward.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? Probably that I’m a very calm person but on the other hand, I like to go “ all in” and be crazy, and live a little. I think it’s the mix that keeps me special and different from others and I have no problem with being different.
Ph: Alain LababitPh: Illya Ovchar - mua: Karina Jemelyjanova
What are your plans for the future? My main goal is to be a good mom and wife one day. Everything I do now in life is for my future family and so they can proudly say “That’s my Mom” “That’s my wife” … besides this, I like to keep information about my plans to myself, because I think that outside energy can and could throw off these plans in a second.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far? My favorite was probably getting out of school and start working on my dreams instead.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? Go for it. If you want something go for it and don’t stop until you are where you want to be. But also don’t stress about it when you’re not getting what you want straight away, ‘cause there might be something even better waiting for you in the future. I think one of the most powerful things you need to learn in life and if you want to start modeling is patience. If you have patience, you’re going to be able to handle most of the things that are waiting for you in this industry and your life.
What do you think of the magazine? I think that’s amazing that you have a place for models, photographers and all the people from this industry where you can read so many personal interviews and see their work.

Photographer Woody Matt (België)
Briefly introduce yourself to our readers. I am Wouter Mathyssen, born in Brasschaat in the year 1990. Besides being a photographer, I am also an enthusiastic guitarist and secretary of an old-timer club.
How and when did you start photography? I got to know photography in the 6th secondary school in the direction of 'Free Visual Arts'. This would have been around 2007. After that I obtained a bachelor's degree in Photography at Sint Lukas Brussels.
What does photography mean to you? Photography is a nice, challenging way for me to work towards something together with others. If you trust each other and create a nice photo shoot, the results will (usually) come naturally. In addition, the shoots themselves, regardless of the results, are always happy memories.
How do you think your work differs from others? In all honesty, I prefer to leave this to others to judge. My view of my photography is, of course, too subjective for that. I just try to do better than the photo shoot before each time.
Where do you get inspiration from? I sometimes look at Pinterest and of course you will also find great inspiration on Facebook and Instagram. This then serves as a mood board to work from during the shoot itself.
Do you think in advance what you want in the photo? I always have a vague idea of what I want in the picture before the photo shoot starts. Partly due to possible mood boards. I don't necessarily pin myself down to a specific photo in mind. I like teamwork and am therefore open to opinions/thinking patterns of models and/or make-up artists. Sometimes more interesting developments emerge than I could think of in advance. Capturing the image is my responsibility as a photographer, but the process that precedes the image creation is pure collaboration.
Do you edit your photos and what do you do about it? Yes. I try to keep this basic in terms of models. This means blemishes, making eyes stand out better, etc. I am not a plastic surgeon, so I will not be one as a 'processor'. For the rest, the general image can of course be tinkered with: adjust lighting, contrast, give data more or less attention, straighten the photo, ...
What do you prefer, Location or studio? Both are nice, but if I have to choose it would be location. There is more 'story' to be created here. Although I am convinced that studio photography can be just as beautiful.
What are your future plans or what can we expect from you soon? No idea. I'd rather let this come to me. Behind the scenes I am busy with some things, but I prefer to talk afterwards than to announce things in advance that may not happen. Until then I will again try to do more photo shoots and perform better each time.
What do you look for in the models you work with? Appearance. A model must have something to say. Having said that, I am more of the classic 'male gaze' in terms of models. But I'm not ruling anyone out in advance. If there is an interesting theme and he/she fits into the story: why not?
What do you think of our magazine? Nice magazine with nice interviews and photos 12 Do you have a message for the modeling world? Support each other a little more instead of tearing others down to justify yourself. The world is sour enough already. Rather put that energy into making great memories with fantastic photos that try to improve your own portfolio or that of the model/photographer/MUA!

Photographer Alistair Cowin
(United Kingdom)
Can you tell us a little about you? I started out life as an Architect in London in the mid 60's but chaged to fashion design in 1971. I was also working as a professional racing driver at that time.
How and when did you get into photography? I got into photography when my fashion business was burned down in a huge fire in central London in 1983 and I had to think about doing something else to make a living.
What does photography mean to you? Photography to me means the freedom of being my own boss when I can make all my own decisions, I don't need to employ lots of people to make it work and creatively it is very rewarding.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I like to call my self a typical 'old school' fashion photographer. This means I keep my pictures sharp, beautifully lit and I always make sure that my models look as beautiful in print as they do in real life.
Where do you get inspiration from? My inspiration always comes from my models first, the clothes second and my clients requirements third.
Model: Alexa May Higson (facebook.com/alexuss09)Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? No. The challenge for me is doing my best with what I have been given - a model, the clothes and the location.
Studio, on location or both? Natural light studio or location - it's all the same to me!
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I am an 82 year old underpaid, overworked semi retired professional!
What has been your most memorable session and why? The first time I shot with Cameron Diaz in California in 1992 when she was starting out as a teen model. At just 18 years old she was so engaging, confident and amusing that I knew from that first shoot with her that she was destined for greater things.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? My favourite camera is an old Sony A77 mirrorless body with a 70-200 f2.8 workhorse lens.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Don't shoot stills - moving images are the future.
What do you think of our new magazine? I like it - and I'll like it even more if it features some of my work!

Photographer Aga Mikłaszewicz (Poland)
Can you tell us a little about you? Hi, I'm Aga and I'm a photographer.
How and when did you get into photography?
I took my first photo when I was 1.5 years old. My father was an amateur photographer, we had a darkroom at home and photography has been in my life ever since.
What does photography mean to you? Is my work but also a way to show my point of view, to show the beauty of women even if they themselves don't see it yet.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I like mystery in photos, I like when something is left unsaid, something for the imagination.
Where do you get inspiration from? It's hard to say, sometimes it's a frame from a movie, other times a situation on the street, probably just from life. And sometimes it happens that the plan is different and when I meet a model, she is an ins-piration for me and completely different photos are created than planned.
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? Once I have a model and a place, I know exactly what effect I want to achieve.
Studio, on location or both? Both.
What has been your most memorable session and why? I don't think I have one such photoses-sion, I remember more individual photos from different sessions because, for example, there was heavy processing in PS or I really like this photo or I waited a long time for it to be taken.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? Photography is my job.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Canon, for many years 50 1/4 and recently sigma 85 1/4

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Give your whole heart to your work and others will surely notice it.
What do you think of our new magazine? Very professional and at a high level, it's hard to believe that it's non-profit.

Photographer Vidin Stoyanov (Bulgaria)
Can you tell us a little about you? Energetic, responsible and unpredictable. I love my family and my work. And I'm 100% there.
How and when did you get into photography? I used to buy and sell things. So I accidentally came across a Sony camera. While I was looking for a digger for him I started looking at it and taking pictures with it. Then I decided to keep it to myself. I didn't even like the souvenir photos he took, but I saw on the Internet that he was capable of many things. So I started reading and watching videos and got into photography
What does photography mean to you? The shortest description is: a way of life. I turned my hobby into a profession
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. Oh, I don't have a specific style. I always love new things and am constantly experimenting with photo retouching.
Where do you get inspiration from? Whiskey.
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? Of course. While taking the photo itself, I already know how I will process it. Before they start shooting, I know what I want the end result to be.
Studio, on location or both? It depends on the type of photo shoot. But I think I like it better in the studio, because there I'm the boss and I don't care about rain, wind and light.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? The time of hobby photographer was long ago. For 7 years now I have been working only this and with this I feed my family
What has been your most memorable session and why? When I worked at low prices and naturally got bad customers. There was a wedding where I had an argument with the groom's father. I ended up leaving halfway through the wedding. Immediately after that I doubled my prices.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Canon and my favorite is 24-70mm II.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Don't rush to market. To organize various photo sessions on his own without payment. If you have to pay a model.
What do you think of our new magazine? It looks great. There are so many talented photographers and models out there and I wish I could meet them all

Model: Angélica Silvestre (USA)
Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Angélica, I was born in Puerto Rico and was aised in Atlanta, GA for the majority of my life. I spent part of my childhood living in San edro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, my mother’s country, which I consider my home. It was a very humbling experience but it made me who I am today. My life wasn’t easy growing up but I was always thankful for the little things and always had a positive outlook on life. Growing up, I was the girl that was teased for always wearing the same shirt, the girl that only owned two pairs of socks and was grateful if I got a box of colored pencils for my birthday because it’s all we could afford. I may have had nothing but I was a girl full of dreams and to me that was everything.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? How I perceive myself. I can be hard on myself at times. Sometimes we are our own worst critics and our worst enemies. Self-love is very important and I think it’s something a lot of us struggle with. I’m not perfect but I work on myself a little each day. Self-love is key. It all starts from within.
How did you start modelling? I was always drawn to the camera from a very young age. I used to pass time by putting on fashion shows as a kid. It was an escape for me and I had fun doing it. As I got older I knew it was something that I wanted to pursue. I started doing photography on my own as a hobby and eventually started networking, meeting other creatives. I was first published and discovered in Atlanta 13 years ago. I worked as a brand ambassador and promo model before I took on modeling full-time. I’ve worked on many projects, campaigns and events throughout the years. I’ve worked with some talented photographers and have had the honor of being multi published. I’m so grateful for all amazing people I’ve met along the way and all the experiences, as they have helped me grow in many ways.
What do you think of the work as a model? It’s a great outlet to channel your energy and emotions and create amazing imagery. It’s art and the ultimate form of expression. It’s freedom, sophistication, it’s beauty —It can be anything. You are not just taking a picture, you are telling a story. You are the brush that is painting on the canvas.
What is your beauty regimen? I make sure to always stay hydrated. Water is life. Believe it or not, I’m not a huge fan of make up, I wear little to none and religiously moisturize every day. I’m very selective with products I use on my skin, since I’m highly sensitive. I love staying active, whether it’s working out, going for hikes or a nice bike ride. I follow a pretty clean diet but I have a weakness for cheesecake and dark chocolate. Don’t judge me.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I’m a very driven individual, I love a challenge and not afraid to take one on. Give me the colors and I’ll paint you a picture. I like to make sure that every shoot is not just a shoot, but an experience. I’m very detail-oriented, I don’t mind taking creative control of a shoot, if permitted. I not only enjoy being in front of the camera but editing is one of my skills. I love being part of the creative process and learning everything there is to lighting and photography.
@mb85photography
@mb85photography
What are your plans for the future? I’m a woman of all trades. I have many interests outside of modeling. I see myself with a thriving business doing one of the many things that I love. Hopefully marriage is in my future. Most importantly, my goal is to ensure that my kids are on the right path and accomplishing their goals. Their happiness is everything to me. My kids are my strength.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far? I’ve experienced so much in the world of modeling, I’ve shot every genre I can think of. That’s something that I set out to do. It’s been amazing. Just being able to travel and share my love and passion of modeling with other talented individuals has been rewarding.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? First, do your research. Don’t be afraid to set boundaries. Don’t do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing. Ask for references. Always read model release forms, know what you are signing up for. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut. Those are very important things to remember. When you’re ready to shoot, create art, be free and be your authentic self.
What do you think of the magazine? I think it’s a great platform for many creative individuals to showcase their talent and experience in the industry. I appreciate Modellenland for this wonderful opportunity!

Photographer Andreas Lott (Switzerland)
Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Andreas Lott and I was born in 1964. I live in beautiful Switzerland, in Schaffhausen.
How and when did you get into photography? In 1987 I worked at Sinar in prototype construction for what was then one of the most advanced cameras in the world. That was my first contact with large-format photography. The first few years I devoted mainly to landscape photography, which taught me a way of looking at things that I now also use in people photography.
What does photography mean to you? For me, photography is a means of communication that is understood throughout the world. It invites you to linger and understand an image.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. A difficult question. I describe my way of working as purist, creative and sensitive.
Where do you get inspiration from? I get ideas and inspiration from everywhere. I look at a picture that appeals to me and think about what makes it so. Then I construct the picture before I take it as I imagine it. While taking the picture, a process begins that I call the creative process.
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? Yes definitely
Studio, on location or both? I have a large studio in Schaffhausen which gives me great opportunities. There I can work very purposefully and creatively. For outdoor shots, I prefer locations that are very powerful in themselves. The model should then be the consonance or dissonance in the picture.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? At the moment, photography is a passion for me. Maybe later a profession.
What has been your most memorable session and why? All the encounters I have with people are memorable and touching again and again. It makes me happy when I can already see the particularly good result when I take the picture. When the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? My camera is a Fujifilm GFX100s and the lens I use a lot is the 80mm and 45mm. The camera is just a tool, not anymore.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Oh I think he should develop his own visual language.
What do you think of our new magazine? I have known the magazine for quite a while now. I like the idea of offering models and photographers the opportunity to introduce themselves. Keep up the good work. Great thing.

Smoothies, a hype?
Today smoothies are a real hype. Everywhere you see in any city you will find smoothie bars. What are smoothies? The phenomenon has come from America and is a drink made from fresh fruits and / or vegetables.
But actually it was a completely different product. Wikipedia says the following: A smoothie is an ice cream made from pure fruit, mashed and made into ice cream. Real Smoothie ice creams have a high percentage of fruit and fall under the category of fruit ice cream. Smoothies and Strawberry-Banana, Kiwi Banana or PeachMango have as fruit ice cream a fruit content of 90% and 10% sugar. A very healthy ice cream so. Meanwhile, they are well established and are either made of pure fruit or vegetables with a little milk or yogurt added to it. Moreover, smoothies are a bomb in vitamins and minerals and fiber, so ideal as a snack or after exercise in the gym. Moreover, our body takes these nutrients more easily in this form. Smoothies drunk on a regular basis gives your immune system a boost. And did you know that you also get a nice skin and beautiful nails and healthy hair?
Quick give me a smoothie!
Smoothies just for yuppies?
No, it is not!
When I worked in the kitchens as a chef at the port of Antwerp, I have those tough dockers learn to drink smoothies. You know dockers doing heavy physical work and they swore up with eggs and bacon. The greasier the more comfortable I would say, but how you get those men on healthy eating? Because that was for sissies they told me. Well quite canny huh. I first made a banana smoothie with mint and fresh yogurt and gave at each meal one free, let's say a sample. After a week I could not keep up with the demand and they asked variations. Finally I had converted these tough men with their little heart. So smoothies are so hip that even the tough guys fall for the smoothie content. Never drank a smoothie before and you want it to try at home? Start with a sweet taste, but do not add sugar Like the taste you can experiment by mixing vegetables and fruits together, you can also add honey, herbs if you want to create truly unique flavors.
Did you know you can lose weight by drinking smoothies? Well I tried it out. For two months I drank every morning and for lunch a smoothie. Dinner was business as usual, potatoes, lots of veggies and a piece of meat. The smoothies I made with fruit and veggies that contain a lot of water. These veggies and fruits are: Pine apple ( fat burner), melon ( all sorts of melon), grapes, oranges, strawberries, black berries, red berries, celery, tomatoes, spinach, cucumber, most of green vegetables. And guess what? I lost 5 kg the first month! The next month was about 2 kg. Now my weight is back normal, but I still drink my smoothie every day!

Model Ana Stepanov (Serbia)
(Repost March 2021)
Can you tell us a little about you? Hi.. my name is Ana. I was born in Serbia, and I’m a model.
If you can change anything about yourself ? If I could change anything about myself (which I consider I should), that would already be changed..But, I’m constantly trying to improve myself, my skills, my work and to learn new things that I think are important.
How did you start modelling? I never thought I would be a model, it happened spontaneously I went to the local Miss Summer competition and won the crown. I really enjoyed walking on runway while following the rhythm of a music, it made me happy. After finishing my university, I realized that people should do what they like, not what they’ve been told it is good for them. So I went to one modelling agency and started modelling, a bit late, but I was lucky that, on my first trip, I’ve met Victoria’s Secret Angel Adriana Lima who encouraged me with wise words: “It is never too late.” That really gave me will to continue modelling.
What do you think of the work as a model? Modelling, as any other job, has both sides, the beautiful one and the difficult one. If you really enjoy camera, posing, walking and constant traveling then it is worth all the effort.
What is your beauty regimen? My beauty regimen is to rest and eat. If person is fresh and rested, it has power to get through the day and accomplish what’s on her mind. Sleeping is really important.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I believe everyone has some sort of qualities which make them different, for me is feeling the rhythm and having the right energy for every fashion show. I’m able to walk in many ways, making good expression for each show, so It usually happens that I’m the one opening or closing it. Photographers also think that I’m creative it happens that they suggest me to do whatever I feel like doing at the moment, to manipulate with things and objects around me, I’m adapting really easily in every environment no matter if the shooting is indoors or somewhere outside on the street, or in nature. I’m able to improvise as long as they don’t make a perfect shot, and I’m having much fun doing it. Being creative with poses and feeling the rhythm of environment are things that make me different in this job.
What are your plans for the future? My plan for the future is to travel as much as I can and do modelling until 60, then retire. Haha.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far? My favorite experiences are those 2 minutes spent on the runway for each show.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? My advice would be: Appreciate yourself, always give your best at work and respect your needs. Also be careful with who you sign contracts. Enjoy the process of learning and experiencing.
What do you think of the magazine? I am pleasantly surprised that you contacted me for an interview, that was very nice gesture. I like how it is assembled and I wish much luck to all the editors. Thank You very much.

Model Patrycja Jasińska (Poland)
Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Patrycja Jasińska and I am from Kołobrzeg, actually I spend my childhood in Sarbia, small village near the city I mentioned. I've always been interested in making art in different ways, playing instruments, recite, singing. I've always wanted something more from life and, as you see, it didn't change :)
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? In the past I would like to change everything. That experience tought me to accept myself, not changing, which is hard and beautiful work.
How did you start modelling? I remember me as a teenager I was posing in front of the mirror, changing clothes, imagine that I am on the stage or something like that. That I have photos to magazine, paparazzi cought me and took me a picture :) But I didn't dream about being a model (only about being in the magazine :D), I was rather dreaming about being a singer or actress.
What do you think of the work as a model? I have two points of view. On one side, it can be just fun and don't cost a lot energy if you don't care about posing, face, body language. On the other side, if you want to treat it seriously and practise posing, no being "one face model", it can be difficult and cost a lot of energy, physically and, sometimes, mentally. I think you have to be in contact with yourself, like yourself, be your friend, because this world is not only kind and nice, but you can also hear words and comments that can bring you down, if you don't think about yourself that you are enough and OK.
What is your beauty regimen? I try to take care of my face, using specific cosmetics, eating healthy food that gives me energy. It doesn't mean I don't eat sweets or fast food, because I do, and I can't imagine living my life without these options :) Fortunately, I have always liked sport, running, fitness and it's also important for me to have not only strong body, but also healthy mind.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I don't like to compare to others :)
What are your plans for the future? Do what I like, be nice to others, smiling, work on myself, taking the best from life and trust life :)
What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Photoshooting! Meeting great people and having adventures. I think my every day is that kind of experience that i can call miracle.

Photo:Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling? Oh my God, I feel like I am professional model haha. But honestly, I told about that - be your friend, it's, in my opinion, on the first place. I think you can be the most beautiful, the smartest person, but if you don't think good about yourself, the least significant word will kill you. And, of course, be careful on the people, who want to have only fun with you, but say that they want to have contract with you or make best photos in the world. While posing, try not to judge yourself, just do what you feel, even if you think it's stupid. Most time I thought "I won't tell about this idea to photograf because it's silly" and you know what? We had great pictures then! Tell about your ideas. In the worst case, photo you made would go to the trash :) And have fun! Show yourself. Feel yourself
What do you think of the magazine? I think it's a great possibility for those who just start their adventure with art. It's really nice and I am grateful that there are people who do that kind of things, looking for faces and giving them opportunities.

Photographer Martin Hathaway (UK)
Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Martin Hathaway and I started taking photographs in my twenties. My professional name is cheltenham.photography. I would say I’m pretty obsessed with photography and spend a lot of my time either taking or editing images. Most of my working life I worked in the IT industry and my last job was with Hewlett Packard. I’m now lucky to be semi-retired which gives me more time for photography
How and when did you get into photography? When I was in my twenties two of my male friends were keen photographers. The one had recently purchased a Minolta cropped sensor camera and eulogized how good the camera was for the price. I went out a few days later and purchased the same camera and so my journey began. I joined the Gloucester Camera Club as a beginner. I learnt a lot from the more advanced photographers in the club.
What does photography mean to you? It’s said by others that I’m obsessed!! That’s probably a true observation given the amount of time and money I spend on photography
Please briefly describe your photography style. Every photographer has a style and I’m no different. It’s what makes photographers images unique. I would much rather the subject is relaxed and generally not staring at the camera. A more candid approach. Often the best shots are after an hour or so when the model relaxes and stops trying to pose. I strive to take very sharp and precise images. Little nuances like taking portraits in landscape mode.
Nikon or Canon? Favourite lens? Fujifilm GF 110mm RLM WR lens
Where do you get inspiration from? I’m constantly looking at other people’s photographs on Instagram, facebook & magazines. I’m inspired by some of the great photographers like Yousuf Karsh, Robert Mapplethorpe, David Bailey, Helmut Newton, Réhahn.
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture? I always plan a shoot in advance. I mainly shoot with a model and often with a Hair & Make-up Artist (HMUA). We exchange ideas and that’s a good foundation to start a shoot. Sometimes the shoot goes to script other times it may go off piste.
Studio, on location or both? I’ve got a home studio and also love shooting on location. We live on a beautiful planet that offers many opportunities if we take the time to look.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I’m something in between a hobbyist and a paid professional. I don’t make a full time living at photography, but I would say my images are very professional.
What has been your most memorable session and why? Shooting elephants on Lắk Lake in Vietnam. The elephants have their own character and are gentle giants. A Mahout (elephant handler) has a very special relationship with the elephant in their care. The elephant is considered part of the family by the handler, and they’re normally matched together at an early age. It was a privilege to shoot the elephants on the lake and be invited into one of the mahout’s houses.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer? Don’t get obsessed by the plethora of equipment out there. Photography is all about light. Try and understand how light works. If it’s in the studio or outside, try and understand what’s going on with the lighting. This applies to any genre of photography. Whatever level you’re at look at making small steps forward with your photography. Continue learning otherwise you will never improve.
What do you think of our new magazine? Inspirational & well presented.

Model Sandra Duda (Poland)
Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Sandra. I’m 18 years old (19 in Januray) and I’m from Poland. I’m in the last class of high school.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? When I think about the look, I would change my height. I would love to be taller. Also I adore blue eyes, so it would be another change. But when I think about my character, I would change the fact, that I’m too sensitive, because I can get hurt really easily.
How did you start modeling? One day my friend and I did a photoshoot for fun. After that I realised that I feel very confident and happy in front of a camera. Meeting with my friend has helped me to start and now I’m working with photographers from Poland.
What do you think of the work as a model? I think when you love doing something it’s not a work but pleasure. Sometimes it makes you feel tired but it’s normal. Modeling helps to express yourself and enables you to visit different places.
What is your beauty regimen? First of all I regularly go to the gym. I think we have to take care of our body and stay healthy. I use a lot of cosmetics for my face, because I want my face to be fresh and young as long as it can be.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I’m really hardworking person and I always do my best. I do everything with my heart, what is really important. I never grumple and I’m open for creavtive projects.
What are your plans for the future? After high school I want to go to university and study pschyology. I love to work with people. In the same time I still want to develop myself as a model.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far? My favorite experiences are meetings for outdoor photoshoots. Everyone meets at weekend and does photoshoots for two days. There is a lot of work. During this time I have met amazing people-photographers and models. Also I have got beautiful pictures, which I have in my portfolio.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? You have to believe in yourself and know your value. Being confident and brave is really important too. Some people may try to tear you down but you have to keep going and make your dreams come true.

Model Zusilia Elize Christina (Netherlands)
Sulaf Aljaramani , Irving Vorster & Yves Eaux.

SUGAR CANDY
By Arturo RosaleñVolatile like cotton and exciting like sugar, Sugar Candy transitions between textures, the intangible, and elegance; almost like a candy, it takes us back to a world of fantasy and color, where image becomes an interlude between hairdressing, makeup, and fashion.
Like tangled sugar threads, it creates updos with wavy textures that make the hair evaporate to create avant-garde and magical shapes.
In makeup, a sunset volumizes the face, leaving an almost bare eye and highlighting lips marked by a red wine color.
Viva magenta becomes the main protagonist of the image and this season, vibrant, energetic, and romantic, where the wardrobe embraces natural, architectural, and dynamic forms that invite us to dream of an almost futuristic image.

RE-POST 2018
Can you tell us a little about you? I’m born in South Africa on April Fool’s Day, but I consider myself an Aussie because I’ve lived here for most of my life. I love animals, especially bunnies. I love to read and sometimes I can finish an entire book in a day.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? My perception of myself. Nowadays there are so many standards and ideas of what women should look like that I can sometimes forget that there is nothing wrong with my body. I’m always working on accepting myself for who I am :)
How did you start modeling? I was scouted by Charlie Octavia who referred me to Vivien’s Model Management. I signed with Vivien’s, one of the best decisions I ever made
What do you think of the work as a model? I love it. I get to meet so many new people, travel, and experience things I never thought I would do. My favourite work is a photoshoot.
What is your beauty regimen? I hardly ever wear makeup on a day-to-day basis, but if I do I always like to wash my face with soap and warm water, and gently exfoliate my skin. If I feel like my skin isn’t squeaky clean yet, I like to use a face mask. And I always moisturise my face after! I have dry skin so I have to make sure I keep it nice and hydrated.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I’m very bubbly and friendly, I’ll always help out if I can, and I’m very loyal to and protective of the people I care about.
What are your plans for the future? I intend to study at university at some point in the future, but I’m still trying to figure out what I want to study. All I know is that I definitely want to travel.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far? I went and lived in Europe for three months earlier this year. It was my first time in Europe and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I especially loved going to Bodrum in turkey and Mykonos in Greece.
