Live Music

As you’ve read in our Arts section, Mississauga was crowned Music City of the Year, and with good reason! From bars, parks, concert venues or on city streets, Mississauga has an evergrowing music scene that you should experience and support. Sauga Busks, Summer Concert Series, cover bands, performances at local venues of all sizes, and much more make it easy to revel in our award-winning music scene.

Festivals

We’ve got oh so many festivals in Mississauga! From food festivals, to the Bollywood Monster Mashup, to the the Southside Shuffle, Portugalo Fest, various cultural festivals and oh-so many more, Mississauga’s got you covered.

Lake Life

Take advantage of Mississauga being on the shores of Lake Ontario. Kayaking, canoeing, boat tours, swimming, and walks along beaches are wonderful ways to enjoy our waterfront. Local favourites include Lakefront Promenade, Marie Curtis Park, Lakeview Park and Jack Darling.

Celebration Square

In the heart of the city is Celebration Square, our entertainment hub. Adorned with plenty of events each summer, there are movie nights, fresh air fitness classes, Canada Day festivities, unplugged performances at the amphitheatre, festivals and more.

Love Local

Invest some time to unearth new small businesses to support as well as your existing favourites. Finding a few per month, whether it’s a restaurant or retail, can make a difference. With a plethora of small businesses in Mississauga, perhaps your new finds will make it in your favourites column.

Bike Paths

Over 500 km of mixed use bike paths await cyclists to explore the city. There are park paths, bicycle lanes and signed bike routes to pedal through, so grab your helmet and see our city from a different perspective.

Trails & Parks

Our extensive winding network of walking and hiking trails, plus over 500 parks, it’s unlikely you’ll reach all of them this summer, which is a good thing; you won’t get bored. Riverwood is truly a gem, Erindale Park is popular yet enticing, Rattray Marsh still seems like it’s unknown to most (go discover it!) the Lake Aquitaine Trail is a must-visit, along with the relatively new Danville and Saigon Parks being beautiful spots.

Explore Our Wards

We’re the seventh largest city in Canada and have a variety of experiences for you in each ward. Our suggestion? Explore a different ward each week. With 11 wards, that gives you 10 (minus your own) to discover and enjoy. Whether you go by area or numerically, check out what the rest of the city has for you.

Join a Community Social Media Network

Join one, two or a few Mississauga community social media pages to expand your network and learn more about our city. Popular ones are the North Mississauga Communities Group and South Mississauga Communities Group, which are run by local residents, with several helpful members.
