n recent decades, the plus size modeling industry has grown exponentially but only a few full figured ladies are willing to work their curves into a career as a plus size model. Vivian Adaeze a.k.a EVA is a Nigerian based curvy model. The curvy bombshell started out as a freelance body part model and later transitioned to professional plus size modeling at the suggestion of Mr Victor Silas (Editor-in-chief, Models Digest). In an interview with Vivian she says that it was quite challenging at the early stage, and that she was skeptical because it wasn't like the body part modeling she was used to and it didn't require much. She also said it took a whole lot of persuasion and professional guidance from Victor Silas for her to break the ice and grow a thick skin needed to survive the industry. Now, Vivian's stardom has been meteoric. She started getting offers from photographers and fashion designers in and out to identify with their brand. The media has also played a huge role in all of this. Vivian hasn't even emerged fully as a famous plus size model in Nigeria and was graced with being on the front page of Vanguard. Vivian has also been featured on Mystreetzmagazine.

he journey as a plus size model hasn't been all roses and diamonds as there are still not enough platforms for plus size models in Nigeria. The fact that plus size ladies are just seen as 'fat' has been my motivating factor. My aspiration is to change the perception of Nigerian creatives towards plus size models. I admire and draw my inspiration from Ashley Graham. In a country where the craze to be size 0 is more overwhelming, our mind projects what we see as beautiful in covers of magazines, celebrities etc . I urge all you plus size ladies not to throw your sense of reasoning out the window. Being skinny has never been and will never be for every woman out there. Furtherly, there will always be good and bad times. Times when you'll fall, times when people will laugh at you, but never let that define your path.

I never let their opinions define me from the past and that is why am here in the present. I still have so many values to add to life. In the near future I will focus on being a body positive advocate and a frequent cover girl. I want to be a walking proof that it is possible to break down barriers that have been long standing. With the fashion industry's growing acceptance of non -runway model-sized physiques and championing of curvier frames, I believe I will achieve this in no time. Designers won't have to reinforce unrealistic body standards as models with "Little to no body fat".
