Response to Brief Brochure Project for Clarendon Care Group and Redwood Health Care Modus, are an agency team of creative specialists. Our modus team consists of 8 talented, creative and customer-focused people. We work across the three key communications disciplines: Design, Print and Online. Guy is our CEO with wide and far reaching branding, marketing and design experience - actively developing client marketing activities, providing communication plans, consultancy and design based solutions. He is a hands-on Account Manager who has been involved in high value branding projects for clients such as Cyclax Skin Care, J S Wright (Birmingham), Hartlebury Castle and Worcester Commandry, Fortis Living, Aston University, Worcester Warriors, Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Sight Concern Worcestershire. He will actively lead the creative and project management of the Clarendon Care Group and Redwood Health Care Brochure Project Tim joined modus in 2014 and brings new thinking and creative to our clients. Fresh ideas bloom with his talent and he has a keen eye for current trends and design approaches. Tim has flair and creative skills
that push our creative output to another level. As creative Director, Tim has been the lead designer on many of our branding projects, most recently on the Cyclax, Nailoid, The City of Worcester, Hartlebury Castle and Worcester Commandry. Anna came to modus in early 2019 and as a result of her energy and dedication to her work, has already created some strong client relationships. She has worked on various projects in a support function to Guy as well as developing creative for her own portfolio of clients. Anna will work alongside the team at modus to ensure the smooth running of the project whilst also adding a fresh and dynamic creative approach to the collective team.
Development of the brochures and folders modus propose to work with Clarendon Care Group and Redwood Health Care to provide the full range of services required to deliver the needs of the Brochure Project. The key to the success, in terms of best value and creativity, is deeply rooted in our team understanding of your needs. These needs extend to recognising the key messages for stakeholders, defining design parameters and preferences, review of existing branding, colour, size and touch; understanding the target audiences and all the deliverables; budgets, timescales and brief. The brief is asking us for an outline of our proposed strategy with respect to the development of a suite of brochures, one for each home, two generic brochures and two folders.  
Project Overview - Deliverables and Costing Framework
Clarendon Care Group and Redwood Health Care form a group of 14 Care Homes ( 7 in each company). Each Home needs an individual brochure in a branded generic wrap around folder. A5 has been discussed and is an efficient size for the immediate requirement. • Each folder must represent the company and communicate a group story. (Generic) • Each folder needs capacity to carry a home brochure and a business card ( not clipped in) along with some additional paperwork such as a contract, menu etc. • The brochures will be dual purpose and be used both as a response media ( for enquiries) and as a welcome pack/ contract holder once a client has been secured. • Each brochure will be representative of it facilities and the design needs to reflect the current website. • The content will be stripped from the website for each home and edited appropriately. • Each brochure must promote the individual strengths ( benefits) of the particular home. • Each Brochure will be made available as a ‘flip book’ ie a digital version for emailing and use on the website. E.g. https://www.amcogroupservices.com/amco-brochure/ • There will need to be a focus on quality food and events as well as wellbeing and a comfortable and cared for lifestyle. • We need to emphasize, where appropriate, residential, nursing, dementia and respite care (Redwood) or residential, nursing and dementia care, Clarendon Care.
The target audiences are localised to the individual home locations and as such the target audience will be in an approx. drive time of the home – say, 30 minutes or so. We are conscious that there is currently no SEO ( Search Engine Optimisation) on either website and that local web searches will currently and most likely go through www. carehome.co.uk/ The target audiences will include care support brokers. After an initial briefing we propose a traditionally printed A5 folder with digitally printed brochures.The benefit of using digital print for the brochures is cost, storage and fulfilment management. Printing digitally has a cost per unit implication but in real terms digital print is ‘Print on Demand’ and negates the need to produce hundreds of brochures for each home (and the associated production investment), the accompanying storage issues and the ‘going out of date issues’ as digital production can be updated a short notice keeping the content fresh and up-to-date. E.g. A change of Manager, services or types of accommodation all can be easily accommodated and updated without throwing away boxes of out-of-date print. There is requirement to provide a ‘global’ brochure for each ‘group’. We have suggested a flat plan for each home as a basis of managing content and reducing the commitment to time from a design studio perspective. We are proposing to ‘design’ the 1st brochure and then use the initial design to ‘template’ for the remaining homes, thus reducing studio time and therefore cost. There will need to be a contingency for amends and corrections.

Modus added value As well as being the only full service agency in in Worcester we have all the required resources in-house ( eg graphic design and digital print as well as a litho print franchise). We are able to act as a central hub for storage, fulfillment, postage, personalization and everything in between. We will need to define the ‘Hub’ and the requirement and cost for the services, postage etc.

Terms and Conditions All work is carried out by modus on the understanding that the client has agreed to modus’s terms and conditions. Copyright is retained by modus on all design work including words, pictures, ideas, visuals and illustrations unless specifically released in writing and after all costs have been settled. If a choice of design is presented, only one solution is deemed to be given by modus as fulfilling the contract. All other designs remain the property of modus, unless agreed in writing that this arrangement has been changed.
PROJECT ACCEPTANCE
At the time of proposal, modus will provide the customer with a written estimate or quotation. The Terms and Conditions can be read on modus website. A copy of the written estimate or quotation is to be signed and dated by the customer to indicate acceptance and should be returned to modus. Alternatively, the client may send an official order in reply to the estimate or quotation which binds the client to accept modus s’ terms and conditions. No work on a project will commence until either document has been received by modus. DESIGN CHARGES Charges for design and website services to be provided by modus, will be set out in the written estimate or quotation that is provided to the customer. At the time of the customer’s acceptance of this estimate or quotation, indicating acceptance of the Terms & Conditions, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the quoted fee will become immediately due. Work on the project will not commence until Modus has received this amount. The balance of the project must be paid in full before going live.
CHARGES FOR OTHER SERVICES Charges for any additional services over and above the estimated design, will become fully payable (100% of the quoted amount) at the time of estimate or quotation acceptance. PAYMENT The customer will be provided with an Invoice prior to final publication or go live. At this time the remainder of the amount due will become payable. Accounts which remain outstanding for 30 days after the date of invoice, will incur an extra charge of 2% per month of the outstanding amount. Payments may be made by cash, cheque, or (for overseas customers), Pound Sterling International Money Order or previously agreed electronic funds transfer. Publication and/or release of work done by Modus on behalf of the client, may not take place before cleared funds have been received. Returned cheques will incur an additional fee of £50 per returned cheque. Modus reserves the right to consider an account to be in default in the event of a returned cheque.
DEFAULT An account shall be considered default if it remains unpaid for 30 days from the date of invoice, or following a returned cheque. modus shall be considered entitled to remove modus’ and/or the customer’s material from any and all computer systems, until the amount due has been fully paid. This includes any and all unpaid monies due for services, including, but not limited to, hosting, domain registration, search engine submission, design and maintenance, sub-contractors, printers, photographers and libraries. Removal of such materials does not relieve the customer of its obligation to pay the due amount. Customers whose accounts become default agree to pay modus reasonable legal expenses and third party collection agency fees in the enforcement of these terms and conditions. COPYRIGHTS AND TRADEMARKS
By supplying text, images and other data to modus for inclusion in the customer’s website or other medium, the customer declares that it holds the appropriate copyright and/or trademark permissions. The ownership of such materials will remain with the customer, or rightful copyright or trademark owner. Any artwork, images, or text supplied and/or designed by modus on behalf of the customer, will remain the property of modus and/or its suppliers. The customer may request in writing from modus, the necessary permission to use materials (for which modus holds the copyright) in forms other than for which it was originally supplied, and modus may, at its discretion, grant this. Such permission must be obtained in writing before it will allow any of the aforesaid artwork, images, text, or other data to be used. By supplying images, text, or any other data to modus, the customer grants modus permission to use this material freely in the pursuit of the design. Should modus, or the customer supply an image, text, audio clip or any other file for use in a website, multimedia presentation, print item, exhibition, advertisement or any other medium believing it to be copyright and royalty free, which subsequently emerges to have such copyright or royalty usage limitations, the customer will agree to allow modus to remove and/or replace the file on the site. The customer agrees to fully indemnify and hold modus free from harm in any and all claims resulting from the customer in not having obtained all the required copyright, and/or any other necessary permission. ALTERATIONS
The customer agrees that changes required over and above the estimated work or required to be carried out after acceptance of the draft design will be liable to a separate charge. The customer also agrees that modus holds no responsibility for any amendments made by any third party, before or after a design is published.
