CHAMPIONS
The Moeller varsity volleyball team continued its tradition of excellence in its 2021 season.
After an abrupt end to their 2020 season, Moeller’s varsity volleyball team started off 2021 hot with a 9-0 run. The team dropped its first match with a tight loss at St. Xavier in four sets. The following week, the team saw its two final losses of the season against Elder – at home and in the semi-finals of the Centerville Elite Tournament. After beating Centerville to place third in the tournament, Moeller’s record was 10-3. Moeller varsity finished the season with a tie for the GCL Championship and avenged its loss to Elder with a final win in five sets at the Panther’s home court and once again in the state championship match. With an overall record of 23-3, the Moeller varsity volleyball team captured its ninth state championship in program history. The Moeller junior varsity team had an equally impressive season. The team finished with an overall record of 15-4 with its only losses to conference schools. The freshman team finished its season 8-8 overall and saw impressive growth throughout their season.
