PRESERVE SPORTING CLUB & RESIDENCES Hilltop Lodge Opens

New luxury suites debut with world-class OH! Spa and café

The all-new OH! Spa and Hilltop Café are open at Preserve Sporting Club & Residences, and guests who visit the magnificent 3,500-acre property have their choice of accommodations that can personalize the one-of-a-kind experience even further.

“Everything that we learned from 10 years of operating the OH! Spa at Ocean House has been improved upon and incorporated into OH! Spa at The Preserve,” says Daniel Hostettler, President and Group Managing Director of Ocean House Management Collection. “From a physical design standpoint, we took a thoughtful approach in creating a dynamic and appealing space for spa-goers. The treatments will complement the menu at OH! Spa at Ocean House.”

OH! Spa at The Preserve has 10 treatment rooms, men’s and women’s locker rooms with saunas and steam rooms, indoor plunge pools, outdoor swimming pools for adults only, a pilates studio and a gymnasium.

“What makes it so unique is that we have day and night experiences,” says Paul Mihailides, Chairman of The Preserve. “Some people really like to get massages in the dark because it’s relaxing, but other people like to get massages out on the beach in the daylight. So, we have complete blackout rooms that you can open to the outdoors and be immersed in nature. You can choose day or night conditions.”

There is also a dedicated area just off the spa where guests in the middle of treatments can enjoy a meal from the new Hilltop Café without entering the restaurant or changing out of their bathrobes.

Hilltop Café serves breakfast and lunch daily. Its menu focuses on light meals such as salads, sandwiches and vegetarian dishes, with a juice and wellness bar for smoothies and more. Guests dining in the café can see into the kitchen through a glass wall, further heightening the culinary experience.

When guests are ready to return to their accommodations, they have a choice of living styles that are exclusive to The Preserve.

The newly built Hilltop Lodge is a fourstory, hotel-style building that houses the OH! Spa and Hilltop Café. The Hilltop Lodge includes 24 suites—each with one to three bedrooms, and as large as 2,600 square feet— that are patterned after the signature suites at Ocean House. Each suite has a full kitchen, laundry facilities and a private patio with views of The Preserve property.

Those wanting a different ambience can choose The Preserve’s Townhomes on the Green, which are at the heart of the resort next to the swimming pool, golf course and other amenities. “They’re a little more contemporary with two or three bedrooms,” says Hostettler.

For the ultimate luxury stay, signature Laurel Ridge homes offer spaciousness in five distinct configurations. Yet another option are The Preserve’s more secluded tiny homes, Cozy Cabins, which are about 500 to 1,500 square feet apiece and located in the property’s Blueberry Hill nature area. Hostettler describes the cottages as “rugged and elegant, like ski cottages in Aspen,” and ideal for couples.

“All of these units are for sale,” says Hostettler. “They can be placed back into a rental program by the owner with the resort. You can essentially buy it and put it back into the rental program. You use it when you’re there, and when you’re not there, you split the revenue with the resort.”

Guests who enjoy staying in any of these residences at The Preserve also can become members of the property, with multiple types of membership available.

A Clays membership at The Preserve provides access to the property’s 19-station sporting clays course, along with use of the seasonal pool, Double Barrel Kitchen and gun range. A Ram membership allows all of the privileges of Clays, plus access to the entire gamut of amenities 12 days per year; while Preserve membership provides full access to the property 365 days a year, and the ability to

“Full membership is the complete experience of what sportinglifestyle living should be... Anything you can dream about, we have at The Preserve.”

—PAUL MIHAILIDES Chairman of Preserve Sporting Club & Residences pass your membership on as a legacy.

“Full membership is the complete experience of what sporting lifestyle living should be,” says Mihailides. “It’s your own private estate with every amenity. If you want to stay on the property 365 days a year, you can.”

And there will always be something different for members and guests to experience, adds Mihailides. For instance, The Preserve just opened Double Barrel Kitchen with a seasonal upscale menu, featuring daily game specials and the freshest local ingredients. The signature restaurant is located in the Main Lodge, near a brand new Hunter® Boots Borrowing Closet, which—just as at the Weekapaug Inn—is stocked with boots and jackets that guests may borrow to enjoy the property’s many outdoor activities.

For a truly singular culinary and bourbon experience, guests can dine in one of The Preserve’s two Maker’s Mark Hobbit Houses. They are spaces built into hillside boulders with stone walls and floors, and with tree trunks as part of the architecture, evoking the fantasy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic tale The Hobbit.

“Anything you can dream about,” Mihailides says, “we have at The Preserve.”
