The activities of the company consists of the production of surfboards as well as the provision of surf accessories and equipment across the region. With our ambitious and socially engaging services we intend to promote local creative dialogue for the surfing community. The West Factory will indeed be redistributing a portion of its profits to fund the development of surfing in West Africa. Our aim is to define and strengthen the region’s unique surfing identity The long term goal is to fabricate West African boards by a local West African team.

The single concave throughout adds to the speed and the subtle hip in the tail makes it easy to redirect. The slightly pulled in tail gives bite and drive through turns, and true to Michel’s style, the Spartan loves big carves in powerful waves, but still feels great in weaker surf. Al Merrick Rook 15 6’0 x 19” x 2” 3/8 First seen on the WCT tour in 2010, the Rookie has been rediscovered by our entire CT team this year; Seabass, Kelly, Adriano, Lakey, Bianca, Sage and Kai all have won heats on the new Rookie 15. Ridden shorter and wider than the original, the Rook 15 is the ultimate contest workhorse. Single concave throughout, the Rook 15 works best when on rail. Ride this board your same height to 2” longer. The Rook 15 has quite a bit of rocker in it that allows for quick turns and transitions. It also has a nice straight-ish spot under the front foot in the rail rocker that, along with a very generous single concave running almost the whole length of the board, creates lots of speed, flow and drive. The tail block is pulled in on the Rook 15 as well, which helps with fast transitions.
