ARCHITECTURAL Photography

Documentation of

HERITAGE

Being an architecture student I learned and use the elements and philosophies of the past. Some of the past are still remaining and we are learning from it. The idea of conserving heritage was built in me from the LIK trophy NASA 2015 - 2016, since we worked on a project of documenting the Chattrams of South India. This is a compilation of my some of the visits to heritage structures. Documenting these valuable structure would surely help us to learn from the history.

DYNAMISM IN SPACE Light House Jn. - Marina

The brief of the exercise is to identify a space which behave dynamic through time and observe the way how people engage with the space. I wanted to narrate the space and its events by using the stationery objects as subjects and frames positioned based on them. I worked in a way that time brings in dynamism to the event happening in the space.

FRAMES and FAMES Cul de SAP - Anna University

Cul de SAP, a college cultural fest organised by SAP, Anna University based on a theme of Fantasy and Dream. The decorative elements made the vistors to dream and the campus was a converted into a platform for drama through these elemens.

In MOTION Got the opportunity to volunteer as a photographer for a Marathon happening early morning on a lazy Sunday. The event is to make the people of Chennai who majorly belong to the IT to come out and participate in events and bring down medical implications and create awareness for the city as a whole. I got the information of this event through social media and decided to volunteer for the event. Early morning 5 am is the time when the marathon begins and I was assigned a location near the starting point. This image was shot after a 500m of distance from the starting point. The participants who run for around 10km will be supported by volunteers offering foods, water and anti-dehydrates. A moment when a participant has no time to stop but who is in need of a lemon and salt makes trails of his arm. `

WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE BUT, NOT A DROP TO DRINK

Dancing DROP This image was taken while being an amature photographer obsessed by the elemental nature of water. During my vacation, I took my point and shoot camera and wanted to capture the motion frame of a water droplet. By that time, I figured out the working of my camera. I sat down near a water tap and made it drip slowly. Like we photographer’s set up the aperture, shutter-speed and ISO, I had to work with the water tap to control dripping. Finally, I was able to frame a droplet trying to dance.

Bessie beach children

The children of besant nagar used to play and make fun since they belong to the nearby slum along the beach. They wanted me to capture their moments of making performances. By doing this , they wanted themselves to perform well and get photographed. I believe this is the process which I should undergo in a project to develop a content.

LIGHT Particles Myself, as a yongster always had a fascination towards bikes. Looking at television Ads, how they make those images and footage in a way that it attracts the target user group always remained a question in me. To answer that question, I started to make pictures of my bike. This is my favourite click for my love for light from the head lamp. This photograph detailed out the reflections that the light undergoes with the reflectors in the lamp and which in turn illuminates the particles of in air
