The monument shall be underlining the contributions, participation and everlasting efforts of Bahrain Society of Engineers to the public by creating a symbolical dialogue through the design.

Thus, the design approach is simply finding the geometrical shape that can embellish the existence of the society of the engineers in Bahrain. The shape is a universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notion of totality, wholeness, focus, infinity unity and trustful.

The intervention for this mosque is heavily inspired from the establishment of Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah Al Munawarah. We believed that Architecture, in general, should always be of service to people. In this case, it is obvious to emulates the fundamental functions of a Prophet’s Mosque in its capacity as a community development center, performed numerous religious and social roles and functions. The Mosque thus was:

• a centre for religious activities;

• a learning centre;

• the seat of the Prophet’s government;

• a welfare and charity centre;

• a detention and rehabilitation centre;

• a place for medical treatment and nursing;

• a place for some leisure activities.
