PREFACE

I always start working with a sketch. Sketching is one of the most accurate way to solve the problem. A series of repetitive sketches demonstrated positive progress. Sketching not only can be used for design problems, but also other problems such as puzzles and math problems. Architecture means manipulating lines into a beautiful 3-dimensional shape. Starting with a simple polygon, end up with a form and space that can be used by humans. I believe that architect is not only responsible for ensuring that the layout and circulation is in order, but also are responsible for providing proper form and building facade to meet the human visual needs. A modern architecture style with a minimalistic approach while maintaining a good layout and space circulation is the perfect combination for a building. Sometimes, wall define space, but not all the time. We’re creating a house for a people, but it’s their personal touch that creates home.

RabbitLand, not just an imagination, but rather a response to a more sustainable world. Widely use of shared pods for transportation purposes, extensive levitation application for industry, construction and even furniture. Lack of friction means less energy consumption. In the modern world, ‘Time’ is a problem. But in reality ‘Time’ is like gold, needs to be carefully guarded. Now, in our 3-dimensional world we have to follow times. If we can control the time, put all the time in a timeline, we can controlled as needed. When this happen, no more past, present or future. What’s left is TimePlace.

CONCEPTUAL SKETCH

The site is a rectangular, bordered by 4 Kota Raja roads while accessible from surrounding suburbs via 4 Boulevards—Persiaran Sepang, Persiaran Klang, Persiaran Hulu Langat and Persiaran Gombak. In this respect, the site benefit from four equal corners and frontages. However, the site’s surrounding at present is industrial and with minimal commercial, which calls for a proposal that can self-sustain; an inward progression.

Provided that the site is a rectangular within a rectangular road grid; a break from this pattern is inevitable—circles shall begin to infiltrate the area. Strong lines from the rectangles will also be softened via organic lines and gestures. One thing remains, the proposal shall feature industrial commemoration for two reasons; the setting it is built on and because it is a HICOM.

GREEN ZONE

LOOKING OUT

The main architectural feature in the development are the elevated parks which sits on carpark podium and the internal courtyards. This Elevated Public Realm/Central Park is lush environmental deck that connects strategically with the tower blocks while forming a green lung for the city. Layers of tree screens border the site and pathways to provide varying degrees of opacity and privacy, softening the massiveness of the towers, creating a human scale environment.

The towers feature 360 degrees view of its surrounding, but also offer inward viewing. Not only that some of the views looking out enjoy external courtyards defined by curves of paired towers, a singular cylindrical tower is also a sight to behold; where one can admire its unusual, interesting disposition. The paired towers evidently have another functional feature in which combination of two towers lend a wide enough blocking from the Western Sun to create a shaded park in the evening for better enjoyment for the residents. .
