Mouse Description

A mouse is used to move an associated cursor symbol on the screens. Displacement of the cursor on the screen is directly related to the speed of movement of the pointing device, and is not dependent upon the selected range. The cursor can move freely between the Main and Auxiliary displays. The pointing device has three buttons: LEFT, CENTRE, RIGHT CENTRE RIGHT. The most used button is the left one; clicking with this button LEFT allows the selections (track, strip, editing field etc.) the use of the buttons in the General Information Window or in the MOUSE Command Line, to move, lower or move windows etc.. The centre button is mainly used to abort an erroneous action or to delete something (delete an electronic strip for instance). The right one is used for display actions such as zooming window, extend a strip or a label etc… The cursor associated to the mouse displacement has several shapes according to current function, current editing mode and the window where it is running. The predefined shapes are shown in the table below:

On Main and Second ASD Windows Interactive mode on Main & Second ASD Windows

Insert mode on non-ASD windows Overstrike mode on non-ASD windows Text input mode

7.2.1

Main actions made with the mouse on the label or symbol Selects the track and the corresponding strip (allows then various actions such as accept, warning acknowledge, graphic route display etc..)

Left click on symbol SYMBOL

Right click on symbol

Moves the label position around the symbol position (a second right click to fix the new position)

Left click on ACID

Displays the flight plan window for the designated flight

Centre click on QCID

Gives an EXTENDED label if the label was a NORMAL label or it reverts the extended label to a NORMAL label

Right click on ACID

Displays the Callsign Popup Menu with the list of operations that the controller is able to perform on the flight plan. (eg. ACC or HND function)

CFL

Left click on the CFL field

Displays a pop up menu; left click on the new CFL (pop menu is automatically closed)

PRL

Left click on the PRL field (if no mode C available)

Right click on designate area (triangle on the left side)

Shifts the strip to the right. A second click repositions the strip in the normal position. In the Traffic Management Window, enables the strip to be moved

Left click on the ACID

Displays the flight plan window for the designated flight

Centre click on the ACID

Displays an extended strip (a second click reverts back to normal strip display)

Right click on ACID

Displays the Callsign Popup Menu with the list of operations that the controller is able to perform on the flight plan. (eg. ACC or HND function)

Left click on PREA status field

Coordinate the FDR. For a departure, the ETD is computed to current time plus an off line defined parameter. For inbound flight, the estimates are not changed

Left click on HND status field

For a handed over in FDR, the left click on the HND status field accepts the flight.

Left click on CONT status field

Opens the SECTORS WINDOW to select the sector to which a handover has to be proposed.

Left click on EOBT field for a coordinated departure

Opens a pop up menu where the current time is pre selected. A click on the chosen time of take-off activates the flight; equivalent to a DEP.
