Add New Section S buttton. Click thhis button to o display thee Cable Secction Data form; fo use the optiions on the form to deffine a cable section.

Add Copy of A o Section button. b 1. Higghlight the name n of a prreviously deefined cablee section definition. 2. Clicck the Add Copy C of Secction button n to display the Cable S Section Datta form m. The form m will be "ppre-loaded" with the paarameters sppecified for the defiinition seleccted in Step 1. 3. Makke the necesssary modiffication to th he form, if any, a to com mplete a new w cable secttion definitiion.

This iss used primarily to mod del tension‐‐only cabless and brace es. The behavio or modeled is nonlineaar but elastic. For exam mple, assume a compreession limit o of zero has beeen set. If thee object triees to go into o axial comp pression, it will shorten n without any stiffness. If the load reverses, it will recovver its shorttening with h no stiffnesss, then enggage with fulll stiffness w when it reacches its origginal length. Select tthe frame object(s) to b be assigned d axial force e limits. Use thee Assign menu > Framee/Line > Ten nsion/Comp pression Lim mits command to accesss the Frame TT/C Limits fo orm:

Tension n Limit. Speccify a tensio on limit by cchecking the Tension LLimit box an nd entering a value that is zzero or posiitive. Compreession Limitt. Specify a ccompressio on limit by cchecking thee Compresssion Limit bo ox and entering a value th hat is zero o or negative.
