In the beauty industry today, most women are striving to look forever young, no matter their age. Lindsey Lohan and Heidi Montag are a few women celebrities that have gone under the knife to “enhance” their look. Instead of looking young, these women seem to look plastic and old. It seems that women are abusing Botox and getting put in places they do not need it yet. Philip Miller M.D. says, “Filler is like heroin to a junkie.” He is saying that you can get addicted to this and it is like a drug. Before the young even have their 25th birthday they look like they have blown out birthday candles for many more years. I think that women who do get plastic surgery, regret it later in life. It makes you look older and most men do not find it attractive. If I had the choice I would never get it done unless I absolutely needed too.

The death of the great designer Alexander McQueen was honored September 20, 2010 in St. Paul’s Cathedral, in London. McQueen committed suicide on February 11, 2010. The service had over 1,000 people including Stella McCartney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss. Anna Wintour, Vogue editor in chief, said” We always forgave Alexander.” With all of the famous friends and family on the inside of the cathedral, a large group of fans sat outside celebrating the designers life. I think that Alexander McQueen was a genius and he had an amazing eye of detail. I loved almost all of his clothes and it’s a same that his life was cut so short. Hopefully, some designs will be brought back to life after the designers death.

The runways for spring are going to be very colorful this year, because it seems that almost every designer has every piece painted in rainbow colors. Marc Jacobs had colorful wedges and Miuccia Prada let us taste old Cuba. Also, animal skins are in not prints. Welcome the age of the python. There are also three must-haves for next season; a wedge, flat sandal, and a tote bag. Next season is going to be very fun. I think that the pieces described for next season seem beautiful. I love color and I am very happy that they are being brought back in different ways. Also I would pick a wedge over any heel any day so I am very excited. Â

A very big trend this season would defiantly be lace. Almost everyone is wearing it and it is found in every store. In the picture above, Lauren Conrad (middle) is wearing a Notte by Marchesa lace sheath dress. This was worn to her new book signing in October. Anne Hathaway, (above left) wore a stunning, Valentino Couture at her new movie premiere, Love and Other Drugs in November. Nicole Kidman, (above right) wares a very simple white lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana, supporting her husband at the 2010 CMA’s. These celebrities are just an example of how popular lace is. In a lot of magazines you can see that lace is in the trend alert.

In the men s fashion world, plaid shirts seem to be very in. in this picture, two of the Jonas Brothers, a very popular boyband, seem to wear them all the time. Joe Jonas, (right) is wear a True Religion plaid shirt, while his brother, Kevin, (left) is wearing Just A Cheap Shirt plaid shirt. These brothers are very popular and most girls wear plaids now because of them. In almost every store I walk into, the men s department is always covered with plaids. These very stylish shirts are moving from the men s department to the women s with the popular boyfriend shirt. I think it s a must have for the season.

A returning trend next season will be the board shoulder look. Most women like the smooth, square look. It makes a suit look more professional and the silhouette is a lot sharper.
The colors that I see next season will most likely be the same as last year, bright and bold colors. Because the economy is still bad, people will pull out clothes from their closets and buy simpler items then in the past.

The fabric for next season will be cotton. Cotton is a very light weight fabric and is very breathable when it is warm. You can also layer the fabric to give your body warmth when it is still cold out side. Also cotton is very cheap to get because of the bad economy.
The texture for next season I believe will be soft. When I mean soft I mean the smooth feeling of cotton. It feels very nice to the touch and very smooth against your skin.

The style for next season will be very simple. I believe that women will wear simple or patterned knit dresses, topped with a harder but still soft jean jacket. It gives you a cool look and its very comfortable.

In the department store Macy’s, every thing is laid out very neatly and smoothly. All of their displays were very simply and showed what they had in that section of the department. It seemed that they had a lot of mannequins in a lot of places, but they were spaced out evenly. I really liked how each display was really simple and they were really easy to see. It seemed to me that they were built small enough to move around them but still big enough to be seen across the department. The clothes on the displays were also on the tables surrounding them so a customer was not searching the department for the item. I really liked the displays at Macy’s.

There were to kinds of displays at Old Navy. They had a really big one at the entrance of the store (bottom-middle) and they also had ones atop clothing racks (left). I thought that the fact they had displays of above the clothing was great. It should what the section under it had and it was really helpful. I liked the opening entrance but I thought it was harder to find those items because those were all around the stores. I liked each display but the one above the clothing was my favorite.

The Sex and the City movies, the women are very fashionable. No matter what the occasion, the girls wear the top line. In this new chapter, I think that the main trend is the maxi dress. The setting takes place in the Middle East and their culture is that all women need to be covered up. Instead of wearing the traditional clothing the women wear, the cast wore maxi dresses. They girls were still covered up and yet very stylish. Most women copy whatever they see in the TV series or movies, and this one is no exception. The maxi dress was a must-have summer item and I know it will be another one again next summer. It is a classic way to stay cool, and you can wear it day or night. Some people seem to think that the maxi dress looks like a night gown, but if you have yours at the right length and its not to big, your dress will look like a dress and not a night gown. The dress is a tasteful way of staying cool in the summer instead of those barley-there shorts.

You can wear each item separately as also together. I really love the jacket and the over-the-knee boots. The jacket can be worn at any time, during any season, the boots as well. Everything matches and I think that the clutch brings it all together with a soft touch. This look can really be worn at any season and the fact that each piece can also be worn separately is great. I really love this piece and I would recommend it to anyone.

The responsibilities for a fashion designer are very straight foreword. One of the responsibilities are producing concepts or even drawing sketches. Fashion designers also have to develop patterns and oversee productions. They also have to know the trends in fabric and color. Fashion designers must stay up on the trends and have fresh ideas.
The responsibilities for a fashion buyer is really what everyone thinks, they buy clothes. Well, they do buy clothes but its a lot more complicated then that. Fashion buyers must shop for products to sell to a target audience. Each company has a goal for their buyer and usually it is to reach a certain profit, and when you have a good buyer, there should be know problem reaching that goal.
The responsibilities for a visual manager are also straight foreword. Visual manager s design window and indoor displays for the store and they make sure they are updated regularly and have a target audience. They also must know what the trends are for the season. Â

Okay ladies, no matter how thin you are, you do not need to wear as little clothes as possible. Please to stay cool wear a dress or even a light-weight breathable tank. Please go cover up!
Gentleman, just because men shirts are in for women to wear as dresses, does not mean you can pull it off. This photo is screaming fashion don’t! Please grab the pants, and drop the heels.
Just because plaid is in, it does not mean it is in on your behind. Boys, pull your pants up. It makes you look dumb when you wear a belt with your saggy pants.
When you can see a boy’s underwear, most people are disgusted. Well, when you see a women’s, its even worse. Ladies you can feel that. Women need to wear belts to keep their pants up. It is just un classy and un professional. Ladies you know better.

A fashion stylist is pretty much a dream job. You get to work with celebrities and style people and it is all pretty much about networking. To be a stylist, you have to know all of the fashion trends and you must be prepared for anything that happens. Usually stylists have designer friends who can help with disasters or anything else that happens on a shoot or big event. You also have to be able to work fast and to work with other people. I love working with other people and making them look their best. I would love to work as a stylist with celebrities and helping the stop of fashion don ts. This would be a dream job for me.

A personal shopper is someone who shops for customer of the store they work for. Personal shoppers are not just for clothing they are for anything. To become a personal shopper you need to be a good listener and communicator. You also need to be up to date on the fashion trends and aware of the different price ranges.
A fashion director is someone who is responsible for determining the trends and themes for the firm that they work for, for the following season. They also give these trends to textile producers and other designers for the following seasons. To be a fashion director you must have good communication skills and leadership abilities. When you are head of a department you have to be well put together. This would be another dream job. You have to work so hard to get to this position and I would love to be there. This would just be a huge accomplishment for me. I have to have things a certain way, and this would only work when I am at the top.
A personal shopper would be a very good job opportunity for me. I would be very good at it and I love to shop for other people. I like to put smiles on peoples faces when I give them my opinion. I love to help people and this would be an exact example of that.
