PROJECT GOALS + DESCRIPTION
The research conducted focuses on how the built environment could shape and influence the lives of adolescents who suffer from social anxiety disorders through the implementation of art therapy.
Social anxiety is on the rise due to increased exposure to media and altered ways of life. Non-face-to-face communication limits adolescents’ ability to be able to work together and respond to social situations. Real connections have been lost in modernday society which leads to feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression It is important to repair relationships and reduce the overwhelming feeling of anxiety individuals face when entering a new, unfamiliar space.
