Il mondo della Eco-Moda tessile, termine generico con molti significati, è in ascesa esponenziale. Un punto di partenza condivisibile è la Visione di Eco-Moda, “Un concetto olistico che si riferisce a tutti i prodotti moda che sono stati creati in modo tale da contribuire ad un Mondo più sano ed eguale” (“that refers to all fashion products that have been created in such a way as to contribute to a healthier and more equal world”), creata dalla co-fondatrice di ecofashionworld.com, Kim Pouldner.

I criteri che vengono utilizzati nel sito per definire i prodotti sono molti. Ne citiamo alcuni in uso specialmente in UK e USA, ETHICALLY PRODUCED, VEGAN, CRAFT-ARTISAN, CUSTOM, FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED, ORGANIC, RECYCLED, VINTAGE, in cui è parzialmente suggerito la possibilità di avere prodotti Certificati. La nostra scelta, invece, è che la Sostenibilità del tessile debba essere certificata e sostenuta da una etichettatura.

The world of the Eco-Fashion textile, generic term with several meanings, is rising exponentially. Different criteria are applied in the website to define the products.

ETHICALLY PRODUCED, VEGAN, CRAFTARTISAN, CUSTOM, FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED, ORGANIC, RECYCLED, VINTAGE, just to mention a few specially used in the UK and the US, where the possibility of having Certified product is partially advised. But our choice is that textile Sustainability should be certified and supported by labelling.

GOTS - www.global-standard.org Il Global Organic Textile Standard emana e controlla le regole per la produzione tessile ecologica e responsabile, è stato sviluppato in comune con ricercatori di standard ecologici, in modo da definire world-wide lo status di organicità dei prodotti dall‘origine a tutti gli stadi successivi attraverso un modo di produzione rispettoso dell’ambiente e socialmente responsabile ed assicurare il consumatore tramite un’etichettatura sulla credibilità di quanto dichiarato.

FAIRTRADE - www.fairtrade.org.uk Il marchio Fairtrade è un’etichetta registrata di certificazione per prodotti selezionati da produttori attivi nei paesi in via di sviluppo. Per esporre l’etichetta bisogna rispondere ai requisiti Fairtrade standards stabiliti da un Ente internazionale di certificazione, FLO. ECOLABEL - www.ecolabel.eu L’ European Ecolabel è uno schema di criteri adottati nel 1992 per incoraggiare la produzione e la distribuzione di prodotti rispettosi dell’ambiente. GOTS - www.global-standard.org The Global Organic Textile Standard issues and controls the regulations for ecological and responsible textile production. It was developed in cooperation with Researchers of ecological standards as to establish the products organicity status worldwide, from their origin to all the following stages, through a production concept that respects the environment and that is socially responsible, to guarantee the consumer by means of a labelling on the credibility of the declared information.

FAIRTRADE - www.fairtrade.org.uk Fairtrade is a registered certification label for products selected by producers active in the developing Countries.

In order to have the label displayed, it is necessary to meet the Fairtrade standards requirements established by an International Certification Body, FLO. ECOLABEL - www.ecolabel.eu The European Ecolabel is a diagram of criteria adopted in 1992 to encourage the production and distribution of eco-friendly products. The certified products can use a label for easy identification of products. Certification is voluntary and not subject to obligations. The ECOLABEL criteria follow the whole production chain up to distribution. Questo test riguarda la presenza sui tessuti di sostanze nocive. Superando il test si ottiene la prestigiosa etichetta. “Confidence in Textiles”. CRADLE TO CRADLE - www.cradletocradle.com Cradle to Cradle SM Certification è una società privata americana fondata da William McDonough e Michael Braungart, autori dell’omonimo libro che certifica aziende in grado di dimostrare attitudine e investimenti in un design eco-intelligente. La certificazione si applica ai materiali, ai semi-lavorati e ai prodotti finiti. Prevede diversi livelli di certificazione.

LIFEGATE - www.lifegate.it Certificazione che tiene conto dell’impatto ambientale e dei debiti di emissione di CO2, rimpiazzando con riforestazioni quanto si vuole risparmiare.

Certification is applied to materials, semi-finished and finished products. It provides for different certification levels.

DEFINIZIONE DI ECO-ETICHETTATURA** “Ecolabelling” è un metodo volontario praticato world-wide di etichettare i prodotti certificati ad alta performance ambientale. Un’etichetta ecologica moderna si basa sulla certificazione di ciclo di vita del prodotto e deve essere emessa da un ente certificatore non aziendale, contrariamente a quanto oggi si trova oggi sul mercato “Green”.

DEFINITION OF ECO-LABELLING** “Ecolabelling” is a voluntary method that is applied worldwide for the labelling of high-environmental performance certified products. A modern ecological label is based on the certification of the product life-cycle and it shall be issued by an unincorporated certification body, contrariwise to what can be found today on the “Green” market.

IMPORTANZA DELL’ETICHETTATURA L’importanza di allegare ad ogni prodotto tessile finito certificato un cartellino/etichetta con la tracciabilità della sua lavorazione, valorizzato da un marchio pubblico o privato che ne attesti la autenticità, non deve essere visto solo come un fattore di marketing per la vendita, ma come un deterrente nei confronti di un mercato sempre più globalizzato che non dice come sia stato prodotto quel manufatto, chi l’ha prodotto, in che condizioni sociali, ecc.

IMPORTANCE OF LABELLING The importance of enclosing a ticket/label to each certified textile finished product for traceability of its processing, improved by a public or private brand attesting its authenticity, shall not be seen as a mere factor of sales marketing, but as a deterrent towards an increasingly globalized market that does not inform us about the procedure for the production of that article, its producer, the background social conditions, etc.

Following the achievement of the Product Environmental Certification, Eurojersey is the first Company in the warp-knit textile sector at global level to be defined as an ally of the planet with its Sensitive® fabrics, exclusively produced in Italy. Reduction in consumptions, optimization of recycling for the whole production and use of electrical energy from renewable sources: these are the great issues in which Eurojersey and each one of its employees are involved every day through the SensitivEcoSystem® programme. Radici Group è da tempo impegnata sul fronte della Sostenibilità, mirando i propri sforzi su una serie di azioni volte a ridurre l’impatto ambientale della propria attività industriale, quindi dei suoi processi e prodotti, per questo sta lavorando su una serie di importanti progetti.

Dall’utilizzo di prodotti riciclati a processi che tutelano le risorse naturali, sino all’impiego di energia pulita. Tutto questo a partire da monte della sua filiera, dalla Chimica, sino a scendere gradualmente più a valle con le Materie Plastiche e le Fibre sintetiche. RadiciGroup sta inoltre lavorando per valutare la reale eco sostenibilità delle supply chain che lo riguardano. Questo per arrivare ad una riduzione significativa dell’impatto ambientale dei propri prodotti e aiutare i clienti ad aumentare la sostenibilità del loro business. Nel settore delle Fibre, così come in quello Chimico e delle Materie Plastiche, RadiciGroup è costantemente impegnato nel perseguimento dei più elevati standard di qualità, operando in conformità ai requisiti delle certificazioni ISO, monitorando i processi di produzione, di controllo qualità, di vendita e di distribuzione del prodotto. L’ energia pulita-idroelettrica, viene impiegata da RadiciGroup per la produzione di polimeri di nylon con i quali realizza poi le sue fibre sintetiche e i suoi prodotti in fiocco. Per quanto riguarda i filati in poliestere, un esempio particolarmente importante è rappresentato dalla gamma Revive, i prodotti Green ottenuti a partire da polimero riciclato post consumo. La produzione dei Revive parte dal riciclo di bottiglie in PET post-consumo, che vengono selezionate, lavate e ridotte in scaglie. Successivamente il PET in scaglie viene depolimerizzato e nuovamente polimerizzato per essere raccolto in granuli: è da questi ultimi che si passa poi alla produzione di fibra o all’impiego diretto nel processo di filatura. Sostituire la materia prima vergine con il poliestere da riciclo, che garantisce tra l’altro gli stessi livelli qualitativi, consente il risparmio di risorse naturali, di conseguenza un ridotto impatto ambientale derivante dall’eliminazione dei consumi energetici legati al processo di produzione del poliestere vergine. La gamma Revive è prodotta presso il sito svizzero di Noyfil Sa, azienda appartenente all’area Fibre di RadiciGroup, attiva anche nella produzione di un altro prodotto Green: Ingeo, filo continuo prodotto a partire da resina polilattica. I prodotti “Green” di RadiciGroup - siano essi post-industrial o post-consumer o ottenuti mediante l’utilizzo di tecnologie produttive che rispettano l’ambiente - sono garanzia di qualità, performance prestazionali, affidabilità.

Radici Group has long since been committed to Sustainability, directing its efforts towards a series of actions that focus on the reduction of the environmental impact of its industrial activity, hence of its processes and products. For this reason, it is working on a pattern of important projects aimed at reducing its environmental impacts. From the use of recycled products to processes in favour of natural resources, up to the use of clean energy. The clean hydroelectric energy is used by RadiciGroup to produce nylon polymers for the realization of its synthetic fibres and its staple products. As far as polyester yarns are concerned, an important example is given by the Revive range, Green products obtained from post-consumption recycled polymer. The Revive production starts from the recycling of post-consumption PET bottles that are selected, washed and reduced to flakes. Subsequently, the flakes of PET are depolymerised and the they are again polymerized to be collected in the form of grains: from these grains, it follows the production of the fibre or the direct use in the spinning process. The replacement of the pure raw material by recycling polyester, that also ensures the same quality, enables saving natural resources, and it results reduced environmental impact deriving from the elimination of Energy consumptions connected with the production process of pure polyester. The Revive range is produced at the Noyfil Sa Swiss facility; this company belongs to the Fiber department of RadiciGroup, and it also operates in the production of another Green product: Ingeo, a continuous yarn obtained from polylactic resin. RadiciGroup’s Green products - whether they are post-industrial or post-consumer or they are obtained by means of Production technologies that respect the environment - are a guarantee of quality, high performance, reliability.
